Jane Jamison, who operates the Conservative Website "Uncoverage.net" has a thriving web presence which offers a "right-wing" perspective of ongoing news items as well as media events. Facebook is one of the social networking tools which Jane has utilized in order to initiate new contacts as well as to stay in touch with existing friends.
On August the 22nd Jane's Facebook profile, complete with as many as 5,000 friends and contacts, was wiped off of the face (book) of the earth.

If that was the case there would be tons of people gone, including those much more high profile and influential than this person. I get posts from Glenn Beck, Sara Palin, Karl Rove, Michelle Malkin, etc., etc. Probably some kind of error or something.

FB has always been just fine with us. In fact, the Jihadis were pretty miffed at FB for shutting down their sites. Rush, Palin, Mark Levin, Glenn Beck....the list goes on and on of conservatives on FB.
Both my girls accounts were swept yesterday. I was miffed because they had spent their hard earned money buying 7/11 products to get codes on Farmville. Without Facebook, no Farmville.
Each of them sent reports asking for their pages to be reinstated. This is what each got back....

Your account was mistakenly suspended due to an error by Facebook’s site security system. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience. We have reactivated your account and you will now be able to log in. If you successfully access your account and the matter is resolved, no further action is needed. It was a security problem.
Facebook bans accounts all the time. If you want to screw them back tell their advertisers (their real customers) that you will not buy things from them until FB stops blowing out accounts for unspoken reasons.

Well, the muslims DID manage to arrange it so that if you posted “Islam” or “muslim” on your page or in a comment it would show up on their page......
That is a FACT...I know that b/c it happened to me....

If that were the case, I would have been banned long ago. Between the articles, cartoons and Photoshops I post (mostly from FR) I couldn’t be more obviously Conservative on FB.
Maybe so but I could give you a long list from my own “like” and “friends” lists, lesser known conservatives and/or conservative politicians who haven’t been removed. None of the people (including myself) who post controversial things have had our account removed. Perhaps something she posted was alerted on and they mistakenly pulled the whole thing. I think I’d probably try to find out what happened before I declare as “breaking news” a story about a conservative blogger who had her facebook account pulled.

The "Muslims" didn't do this. This is a change in Facebook so instead of creating 'fan' pages, almost all topics are tied automatically to page searches. If you post a comment on Toyota, the search sees that post and adds it to a Toyota page. (basically, they changed 'fan' pages to just be search results.).

Same thing is happening on Twitter. I have had 2,500 tweets removed, some were later restored (selectively). And less than 1-month later the few I had added over that period were removed again. The Dem Trolls obviously do not like what I think or say.
I have collected a significant list of screen names for the perps from past exchanges. On occassions I have even watched as they selectively removed my tweets.

Check Google or Bing, but my understanding is that it’s easy to hack for personal info and ID theft.

I do not know about Facebook, refuse to do Facebook for privacy reasons.
I do know about Twitter, and I have “observed” my tweets removed by Dem Trolls just after an exchange with them that made them look foolish.
Have twice had my entire history of tweets removed. All vanished except 1. Then in a few days some of them were back. Then they all vanished again.
It is obvious that someone did not like what I thought and said. (screen name there is not the one from here.)

Probably got flagged as a spammer. Facebook allows self promotion advertising but not a lot, because they charge for ads they don’t want the free users being primarily about advertising.

I do think that there would be some case if one used FB credits and you could no longer access them.
I’m not sure how much they actually cost, but I do know that you use a real credit card to buy them. Then you can use them to buy things on games (my daughter bought a Cheshire Cat for FV,) or to even send real gifts to people.
I would think that if someone has some real money invested in FB, they could prosecute to get THAT back, but you’re right, if you lose your page, you actually lost only the privilege they gave you for free.
People have THOUSANDS invested in Farmville (pixel animals and buildings, go figure). There is a group on there that tell about it. You have to have high priced items on your farm to join.

Thanks for the ping! One of the ladies I became friends w/ on FB had her account deleted, she too is an outspoken Conservative.
She created another one, then in time, they put her old account back on.
ONE conservative. Show me others and I might believe there’s something to this. Sara Palin had one of her articles alerted on and it was pulled. It was bogus, she called them on it and the article was back rather quickly. Why were they canned? What have they done to try to get their account restored? Really, there’s too many questions that need to be answered before we make any assumptions. Too many conservatives who post political things are still there posting every day.

It’s easy, but very illegal. I’m in IT and we go after hackers actively.
There have been a couple of viruses where I’d like to have 10 min alone with the person who wrote them.
