he Andalusia Police Department has interviewed the suspect in a shooting that occurred early Friday afternoon, but doesnt plan to press charges.
Thomas Ridgeway was airlifted from Andalusia Regional Hospital, where he was taken for treatment of gunshot wounds to the chest.
Chief Wilbur Williams said the investigation revealed that Ridgeway went to a home on Murphree Stree in the West Haven apartment complex where he an Terrell Curry had words. Ridgeway allegedly went to his vehicle and returned to the apartment with a gun.
Williams said it is believe the gun discharged in a tussle over it. Ridgeway drove himself to the hospital.
Sounds to me like the guy who got shot should be charged.
Andalusia , I’ve always wondered how this Arabic name got to Alabama.
“he AN Terrell Curry had words”
???
Dem words wuz in Ebonics, baby!/s;)
It’s named after the region in Spain.
We’re in between Bagdad and Bethlehem, FL. Bethelehem is understandable in the Bible Belt, but Bagdad seems a little out of place.
The word “Andalusia” comes from what Spain was called under Muzzie rule. The actual name was Al-Andalus.
Have you ever been to Niceville, FL?
I used to live there.
If someone returns to a previous argument with a gun, it’s at least armed criminal action - and murder is most likely on the mind. Why else the gun? If he had time to get the gun, he had time to call the police if something was still unsettled.
Anyone who is so flippant about human life should have charges brought against him.
This story also can be analyzed by CCW holders. Apart from the obvious no-no in escalating the situation:
1. An unarmed man can still hurt or kill you - if you’re in imminent danger of life or limb, don’t hesitate to stop the threat to your life.
2. If your weapon comes out of the holster, you must be ready to shoot, and there had better be a legitimate threat. Otherwise, you could wind up killed by your own gun - or having to live with the embarrassment of doing something stupid and providing a criminal with a free working tool.
