If President Barack Obama needed any more incentive to go all out for Democrats this fall, here it is: Republicans are planning a wave of committee investigations targeting the White House and Democratic allies if they win back the majority.

Everything from the microscopic – the New Black Panther party – to the massive –- think bailouts – is on the GOP to-do list, according to a half-dozen Republican aides interviewed by POLITICO.

And this is news because? Jeez Politico, can you project your angst anymore in your story lines lately? Too bad media angst doesn’t cancel out voter angst.

If Bush had done this after Clinton we wouldn’t have the mess we are in now. But the power elite take care of themselves.

Politico is, along with the rest of the DBM, trying to salvage this failed party and administration.

How, exactly? They control no congressional comittees and are overruled all the time. Nothing comes out of the House that doesent come through Pelosi first.

If you mean through the media, thats a joke. Conservative media is a tiny fraction of the industry and is overwhelmed by George Soros and friends.

GOP should not be too eager to jump right in to this. Sen. Pothole did this with the banking committee (Whitewater hearings) back in ‘95 and that “investigation” ended up being a total waste of time.
It would be to the GOP’s and the nation’s benefit to get all their ducks in a row before grandstanding to the cameras.

I posted not too long ago that the left had their TRAITOR IN CHIEF Barrack Husein Obama and that the right had their TRAITOR in CHIEF George Bush. That didn't go over well with a few posters as they thought Bush did NOT deserve such a label.

The game is DIVIDE AND CONQUER. The Republicans are allowing this country to be destroyed just like the traitorous Democrat Party, it's just at a SLOWER PACE.

That's my understanding, as well. I think Issa is ready to submit lots of subpoenas next year, assuming the Repubs take the majority back.

If Republicans win a majority in the house and/or the senate nothing of any significance will change.

Does anyone actually believe they have the will, desire and perseverance to roll back any of Obama’s socialist power grabs?

How about just passing legislation that comports with the Constitution? Can we just do THAT, please?

The endless investigations can hurt the investigator as much as it does the investigatee...and with the LameStream Media on the side of the Democrat Morons, such damage to the Republicans could be even worse.

So, business as usual, while the economy continues to spiral downwards.

The GOP has as many liberals as the DNC does.

"GOP should not be too eager to jump right in to this."

Couldn't agree more. They better pick and choose their battles wisely. I dont think the public is in the mood for long hearings and grandstanding. I think they want to see effort much more focused on getting the wheels back on america's wagon.

True, unfortunately. The GOP has too many Liberals, and the few who are not liberal lack the spine to investigate

You think they will push the Birther issue? Fat chance. Cannot even get fraud-con conservative talkers and writers to take the issue seriously

Absolutely. This could be used as a rallying cry for the Dems (i.e. they're going to impeach Obama if they win, bla bla bla, and completely shift the focus from the every other problem), and the media will run with it too. Like you said, "focus on getting the wheels back on", and point the wagon in the right direction.

As much as anyone else, I want to see 0bama buried up to his neck in legal issues, because there’s certainly a need to apply some accountability.

BUT...

The Republicans need to play this one very carefully and not get overzealous. Tantalizing as they may be, investigations and hearings need to take a back seat to what they’ll be elected to do, and that’s to force 0bama to enact policies that’ll actually facilitate better economic performance.

Republicans consistently poll only slightly better than jock itch right now, so they have a lot of work to do to prove they deserve to stay in the majority (IF they get there in the first place). If, once elected into a majority, they fail in their charter to reign in Boy Zer0’s agenda and re-insert some sanity back into the process, they’ll be right back out the door in 2012.

I’m relatively uninterested in recreational investigations into the evil and corrupt democrats who are destroying our country. There may be isolated exceptions, but we have 1.7 trillion reasons this year alone to fix wasteful spending first. What we need is the swift and certain repeal of just about every bill passed since the Obama Regime took power, followed by cutting the federal government back to its proper scope of authority and responsible spending with no deficit.

I’ll believe it when I see it. With POS’s like mcpain etc in repub “leadership” NOTHING will happen unless a repub taps his toe in some bathroom, THEN mcpain etc will throw him out.

I wouldn’t be surpised if mcpain switches parties if that would give the dems the majority. He’s old and has always been a dem at heart.

So much surfaced in ‘06 and they decided not to fight anything, then they completed giving away everything in ‘08 that we had given them because of wimpy leadership. They have acted this way time and again. Rush is right, the country club GOP is NOT interested in representing us in the true sense, they just schmooze us to stay in their corrupt positions.

Edmund Burke was so right. People we have elected have failed us and by not doing anything evil has sure risen. I sure don’t have any access to starting prosecutions as they do with all their committees and sub-committees, investigatory powers, etc., etc. You don’t have to be a roaring majority to stand AND ACT on what’s right, matter of fact, that’s part of what defines character is the courage to do what is right regardless.

Dictatorship coming, hang on, we haven’t seen anything yet.

Frankly, I don't want the GOP to waste time on getting back at Dems, and calling for investigations. I want them to hit the ground running repealing Obamacare, dismantling the Climate Change frap that's made its way into the government, and pushing back against the liberal nonsense the Dems have pushed on us for the past year and a half. AFTER all that is done, if they want to do some investigations, they can knock themselves out.
