...Shabazz has confirmed to Mediaite that neither he, nor the New Black Panther Party, will be at Becks rally tomorrow. Shabazz declined to elaborate, but given his prior statements, it is likely that the group decided to follow the lead of other Beck critics, who have chosen to focus their energies on their own projects, rather than counter-protest Beck.
Al Sharptons National Action Network will hold a Reclaim the Dream Rally and March tomorrow that will be attended by Martin Luther King III, NAACP President Ben Jealous, and liberal MSNBC host Ed Schultz.
For those with a taste for a more direct rebuke of Becks rally, Celebrate the Dream might be the ticket:
On the 47th anniversary of Kings historic proclamation, far-right fearmonger Glenn Beck will hold a self-serving press event on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. Hes trying to co-opt Kings Dream, with a Nightmare message to his throng of followers.
Dont let this buffoon diminish a day that belongs to all Americans. Join us to Celebrate the Dream and Reject the Nightmare.
The group plans to unveil a 4-story sculpture memorializing Kings speech, followed by a press conference on the national mall...
“Maybe we should just call them the full black pampers.”
Sounds like a plan to me!
That is how I will refer to them from this point on. I think that everyone should do the same.
Boy, you said it! As for us, we better be crazy mad, and watch our back because they are cowards, and cowards can be dangerous. Makes you even wonder why exactly they aren’t going to show up.
A massive Sharpton rally attended by four people.
STILL, we must be vigilant at the polls...we must be there to track those votes all the way to the end.
These thugs will work their BS where they see an opportunity. We must not let our guard down and we must continue to be on the watch...and put these thugs on the defensive. The thugs have taken two steps back. Be on the lookout for that next step forward.
We will be friendly, respectful and above all, leave that mall cleaner than when we arrived.
So, the New Black Pampers are taking a more intelligent course of action than Al Sharpton? Now that there is funny! LOL
Maybe they watched ‘Gran Torino’ and realized there were people there they shouldn’t f**# with?
Does this guy have a fitting name or what? He's jealous of everything the productive people have because the worked for it.
Well perhaps they saw the photos ofthe last DC rally when over a millon showed up and they did not want there 100 people to be in contrast to that?
SHhhhhh. Don't say that word. Willie Green may be listening.
“Makes you even wonder why exactly they arent going to show up.”
They may show up incognito. Or, helll maybe someone knows there’s gonna’ be trouble there tomorrow and doesn’t want them there. These days ANYTHING could happen.
I have a feeling they realized that they would meet exactly the opposite response and decided it wouldn’t help them to oppose it. The best thing the NBPs could encounter is violence because the media would elevate them as victims.
Well, given his recent — multiple — meltdowns threatening violence against people at Fox News, Ed Schultz this close to Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin is a little scary.
Too bad I know some guys who were just hoping the Black Pampers would get out of line. Oh and they carry badges.
” Or, helll maybe someone knows theres gonna be trouble there tomorrow and doesnt want them there.”
You have made my point. It’s weird out there, but regardless it’s the difference between keeping or losing our republic, and we know freedom isn’t free. And then you’ve got Obama salavating for us to react something or other, so he can consider martial law, but I don’t know who would be willing to act as any of his martials. That’s one comforting thought.
I got a feeling the city will be shut down by 11am
