The body of a local official investigating the massacre of 72 Central and South American migrants has been found, a government source told a leading Mexican newspaper.
El Universal said the body of Roberto Jaime Suarez was found on a highway. He disappeared two days ago in the town of San Fernando, along with a transit police officer.
A second body was found and is thought to be the officer.
Suarez was involved in the initial investigation of the massacre, which authorities have blamed on the Zetas drug cartel. The federal Attorney General's Office has since taken the lead in the case.

At what point is this officially a CIVIL WAR?
It is the federal government's responsibility to protect its citizens.
We will eventually have to occupy Mexico.
That way we could just move our porous border further south, eh. Our feral government's negligence in closing our own border is as much to blame for these travesties as anything else. If these poor slobs knew the chances of getting through were next to zero they would have to stay home and try to improve things in their own countries. These people's blood is on our government's hands as well. Insufferable SOB's!
no one tell me that drugs are harmless....they have made narco empires of many countries...
and legalizing drugs would not help......cheap drugs and more powerful illegal drugs will always be on the black market...
and this case was more than just drugs.....it was illegals who were killed for not paying ransom to get to the USA.....
These tens of thousands of gangsters and the corrupt Mexican government are made up of of Mexicans...
In addition, tens of millions more Mexicans disrespect our laws, rules and our borders and invade our country as a matter of routine. In other words, they spit in your face.
I'd say your sorrow is misplaced.
Well put.
It’s just the truth ranger..
Some people simply enjoy performing as punching bags...
