Congressional Democrats and the White House will continue their attempts to enact policies they believe will boost the economy—and which are also aimed at persuading voters they are working to make things better.
...And while the economic situation remained dire when President Barack Obama took office in January 2009, most Democrats assumed that the economy would rebound by the time they stood for office this year.
A series of disappointing economic reports has made clear that won't be the case. The most recent one came Friday, when the government reported that the economy grew at a much slower pace in the second quarter than previously estimated.
...In Washington, Democrats hope they will get credit for legislation aimed at helping small businesses, which they plan to consider in September. A Democratic House leadership aide said some lawmakers in the party would push for another spending bill to stimulate the economy, though he said other Democrats are likely to oppose such a move.
Some Democrats argue that they have known all along that the economy would not have rebounded by now.
Sen. Robert Menendez (D., N.J.), who leads the committee working to elect Democrats to the Senate, said there was no way Democrats could completely turn around the economy in two years.
"I would have loved to have a better economic picture, but it is what it is," he said. "I didn't have great expectations."

Any time the phrase "and saved" is used near "created jobs", the whole statement goes in one ear and out the other of ANYbody with even a lick of economic sense. These clowns just don't get it when they use these two concepts together they are just creating more of a conservative landslide this November.
Liberalism failed.
The stimulous failed.
The bank bailouts failed.
Fed intervention failed.
0bamacare failed.
Deficit spending failed.
Debt is deflationary. It kills home prices. It kills jobs. It kills stocks.
Run up more debt and the economy will fail even faster.
I do believe that's the plan.
This is all just so completely unexpected.

In the third quarter of 2003, GDP grew at a 7.2 percent annual rate.
2003 and 2004 economic growth levels surpassed Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimates by 150 basis combined, resulting in $300 billion of additional growth, which is roughly $2,500 per household.
Their agenda has nothing to do with boosting our economy.

QUESTION Where do Menendez’ loyalties lie? When Menendez was under fire for using his elected office to get taxpayer money for a facility he owned and rented, Menendez took refuge in the Dominican Republic, giving news interviews in Spanish. (Probably also visited his tax-free bank accounts).
QUESTION Where does Menendez get campaign funds? If Menendez is a paid agent of a foreign government, he should be subjected to US laws.
CONFLICT OF INTEREST ANYONE? Menendez is connected to a lucrative lobbying group run by his girlfriend (a former aide he divorced his wife for). Menendez' lobbying group could easily facilitate sub rosa payments from foreign governments.
BACKSTORY Raids at meat-packing plants across America found workers were illegal aliens using stolen or forged documents. The Rubashkins' Iowa plant even had a working meth lab. How convenient...and lucrative.... for the drug cartels.
Meat-packing companies claimed they didn't know the people they hired were illegal; that‘s when our govt came up with E-verify program.
Sen Menendez (D-NJ) opposes the e-Verify program. Menendez has a bill to stop these raids, claiming they "violate the rights of Americans of Hispanic descent" who can't produce a birth certificate or other documents to prove who they are.
Most Americans are required to prove to state govt they are legal Americans just to renew driver's licenses---or to get a passport----by coming up with several pieces of ID to prove who they are; some Americans have to pay to get new docs and make long trips to get the required docs. But Sen Menendez doesn't worry about OUR rights.
