Following his story for some time now...He is certainly a force to be reckoned with for Muslims....he calls Islam exactly as it is every time. 24/7 Security for a long time as threats on a constant to take his life.
He published a “soft” video about Islam which set off further opposition primarily from Muslims. He has been in many political debates throughout Europe and won each time. His Movie was finally heard in Britains Parliment after much conflict politically and otherwise.
He is a great leader opposing Islam and wants to deport Muslims from his country. Amazingly the people on a whole support him, but like here with the Mosque politicians are divisive and continue to fight Geert.
I’d vote for him in a heart beat. Good man who loves freedom and knows Islam will attack every country it goes to in trying to bring Sharia law to those countries...either by vote or by force or both.
Thanks for the link. Sounds like an interesting character. I bet he sleeps with one eye open. Seems interesting he is of indonesian decent and is an atheist. Is he spot on? Probably. A nut? Not sure.
I think he’s on the right track. There are many who say they want to kill us and convert the country and the world to Sharia law. I don’t think it’s “over the top” to simply take them at their word and act accordingly.
From what I have read he is expressing the truth and the sentiment and experience of the majority of the native population and has their support. That may explain why he has not been arrested or murdered.
I have not heard nor read any criticism of him beyond the usual politically correct slogans and smears. Also, I have not seen any solutions he is demanding to end the politically correct dominance and abuse of Islam in Britian. I don't know his personal ambitions nor his larger political agenda, if he has one. I would be interested to hear from some British Freepers to see what their take is on Wilders.
Our preeminent Dutch FReeper, Knighthawk, has been posting stories of encroaching Islamization in Europe in general, and Holland in particular, for years. Many of these stories are about or at least reference Geert.
My take is that Geert is pretty spot on, but I would invite Knighthawk to weigh in.
Geert Wilders is Dutch and the leader of the Freedom Party.
Since the murder of Theo van Gogh in 2004 many Dutch have ceased being in denial about the threat that Islam and muslim immigration is to their country. Geert Wilders is their voice.

Thanks for those helpfull links.. I don’t think we have heard the last from Geert Wilders yet. May GOD protect him from those who would silence him physically, when attempts to silence to silence him “legally” surely fail.
I would call Wilders a “nationalist-culturalist”, which is inherently conservative in character. By this, I mean that he appreciates what the Netherlands have achieved as a unique and important nation through history; and that this was accomplished because of the Dutch culture.
Most importantly, he believes that Netherlands statehood and Dutch culture are worth preserving and promulgating. This is not an unreasonable desire, any more than it is unreasonable that when you invite guests to your home, that you expect them to respect the rules and courtesies of your place, not demand that you obey their rules in your house.
Traditionally, the Dutch have been very inviting and friendly to outsiders who wish to visit, and even reside in the Netherlands. Unfortunately, large numbers of disrespectful outsiders have arrived who both demand full measure of public generosity, and attack the Dutch for their culture and traditions.
Now, while the Dutch are exceptionally slow to anger, and are paragons of friendliness, when someone finally does manage to provoke them, their assailants may get far more than they bargained for.
The first stage of this has been the rise of the late, assassinated Pim Fortuyn, who was killed by an insane man who was not a Muslim, but did so in their name.
Geert Wilders has taken over for Fortuyn, and is far more astute, politically. Fortuyn led more of an egocentric campaign, but Wilders is far more interested in issues.
While he is not part of the government, as such, his party is strong enough to move the overall direction of the government from the outside, as a loyal “swing vote”. This is a superb place to be for a third party, offering policy victories with minimal political risk.
The blatant efforts by the leftist opposition to silence him have also backfired, because his trial will keep his issues in the spotlight, and his followers motivated.
I lived in The Netherlands for three years in the early 90s. Socialism, apathy and loss of religious guidance were rampant. Older Dutch people had to defend Americans and Brits who were insulted by the younger generation in allied cemeteries, of all places.
The “youtes” were scolded by their elders and told to never insult an English speaker because they saved us from speaking German. That’s the same thing I told Dutch communists in numerous arguments.
This type of atmosphere facilitated The Netherlands’ takeover by a much stronger-willed foreign group, Islamic Fundamentalists.
Last April, a young Dutch couple visited from The Netherlands to attend my daughter’s wedding. They consider me a parent to them since their childhood. We were their neighbors.
I talked to them about the Islamic take over of The Netherlands and the subsequent imposition of Shari’ah law. I painted a picture of what they should expect. The man was nodding in agreement while the woman was blank with a dropped jaw. I finished by telling them to warn their friends, neighbors, and supporting Geert should be the order of the day or...and I crossed myself and said RIP!
I always thought that of all the Western European countries, The Netherlands is the weakest in fighting Islamization. I still believe that the strongest would be France, even if they seem not to behave that way. I judged by their hatred of Arabs in particular and their hot Mediterranean tempers and blood in general.
It wasn’t all bad in The Netherlands; we saw President Bush 41 in person. He came to visit the American School in our largely American neighborhood, Wassenaar near Den Haag. He waved from his limo and graciously thanked us through the PA.

I concur. Geert has been on my radar for some time now. The more I hear folks talk about him in a positive way the more encouraged I am that there is still hope for America!
