You can “bleed off” electrons to a “grounded” surgical point and help prevent a lightning strike. I have seen it, I have done it and you can measure the electricity!

They will then tear it down and sell the pieces to China for a penny on the dollar.

Tesla had a tower up. The government (ours) tore it down. It used to be in the encyclopedias.

It certainly sounds like the static electricity motor, in the book.

I saw Wile E. Coyote try this on a Road Runner cartoon, years ago.

Nothing to see here; just move along.....

It worked for Doc in Back To The Future, too. (I think this same theory was used to develop the 200MPG carbureator, also)

Let me play a “man-made”, “unintended consequences” devils advocate role in this issue.

Here we are at present in the midst of a scientific debate about man’s artificial (man-made) addition to the “natural balance” in the atmosphere.

So, will the new breed of “free electricity” scientists now claim that we can begin to interrupt, on a grand scale, the natural course of “electricity in the atmosphere” and there will be no unintended consequences??

Personally, I see nuclear energy as the only truly “green” energy, in the general sense that that term is meant today. It takes nothing from, detracts nothing from the natural world that is needed or used in any other way, nor adds anything harmful to the general atmosphere (because the by-products of what it does produce can be contained), and of that which it does need it requires very little to provide a lot of energy.

Imagine devices that capture electricity from the air

They already have them, they are called lightening rods, not to mention outside antennas, golf clubs in a storm, trees on high hills etc.

Exactly. Nothing (at least nothing worth mentioning) has ever been invented by naysayers. While plenty of (most) experiments have proved failures — all successes started from experiments.

“Tesla had an idea for this and even designed a machine for it. He imagined 1000s of these machines all across the world forming a free energy grid.”

I’ve read the books about him and how he got totally screwed by the money men. Funny how his ideas keep show up as ‘new’ technology. The latest wind turbine is a Tesla design.

Here’s how to turn electrostatic energy into mechanical energy:

“Galembeck said that a similar approach might help prevent lightning from forming and striking. He envisioned placing hygroelectrical panels on top of buildings in regions that experience frequent thunderstorms. The panels would drain electricity out of the air, and prevent the building of electrical charge that is released in lightning.”

Why do I imagine some liberals pushing this idea and it ends up screwing up all the weather patterns and causing a drought that kills millions?

Yes. If scientists past respected “scientific consensus” we might still believe the Earth is flat. We would also be losing millions of lives yearly during medical operations because we wouldn’t be sterilizing equipment against invisible beings.”

Aren’t these the same people who back in the 1950’s promised us we would all have suitcase size flying aero-cars by now?

Messing with lightening again, how did that wind up for Dr. Frankenstein?

Dang, they must've found the book!
