The other night, Olberman (don’t ask) was interviewing this punk blogger. The guy looked about 14 and used the word “like” 300 times in a 2 minute interview. Olberman interviewed him seriously as if he was just your average Newsweek hack.

Thank you so much for pointing that out! Pre-war Oakland was a beautiful city, rivaling San Francisco with its gingerbread houses, public transportation, plentiful public amenities. But this all changed when Henry Kaiser needed manual labor for his shipyards, and imported uneducated rural blacks from the south. After the war, these people stayed, and totally changed the character of the city.
I wish I could dig up the article written in 1948 by a professional black woman who lived in Oakland, bemoaning what had happened to her “beautiful city”. She demanded to know why Oakland was now overrun with people who were loud, rude, violent, perpetually broke, and generally anti-social. It was a heart breaking treatise, but summed up the situation perfectly.
Skin color has nothing to do with it. Education and upbringing trump race every time.

Not all the time. I`ve been in some very nice all/mostly all black neighborhoods. Very nice homes and lawns and well kept up. But, of course, the blacks who worked hard to get those homes are looked down upon by white liberals and “real” blacks (who live in ghettos) as being race traitors and uncle toms.
Olbermann probably has a hard time getting any intelligent people on his show.

Gutfeld made a great point on Red Eye last night: The bigotry charge is indefensible, and a completely cowardly tactic to use in an argument. Why are there no cries of racism at a Bon Jovi concert, which has a similar dearth in minority attendees?

The left doesnt give a damn about minorities, it just uses accusations of racism as a weapon at every opportunity. The left uses a variety of causes (racism, feminism, environmentalism, gayism, etc) to attack fundamental American values. They may seem separate, but they are all part of the same toolbox with the same underlying goal. That’s why whenever their cause conflicts with the underlying goal, the cause takes a back seat. A good example is feminists and Bill KKKlinton.

They are scared that their labeling people as racists is not working. The people at the GB rally were from all walks of life and as Americans are distraught at the way their nation is currently being destroyed. In November, god willing, the ship will start to take a new direction.

Finally, the Moistheads are realizing that answering “racist” to each and every argument is getting old even to the unwashed masses.

Why do we have to dredge up photos of cute black kids at Tea Parties, black speakers, etc., just to prove we’re not racist? To HELL with those who call us racist! You gotta remember that the black "leaders" and/or the black community have no idea that MLK was a Republican.
If they knew that, they would have also known that it was the Republicans who passed the Civil Rights Bill in Congress against a solid Democrapic opposition.
President LBJ thanked the Republicans and gave them credit although he had filibustered the same bill when he was a Senate Majority Leader.
As important as this was, it is not known or taught in schools (yeah, right) and therefore, Blacks are held hostages by plantation politics.

Thanks for passing that along, it was interesting, indeed. Seems to be written with an agenda, however, with carefully culled and cited data points, squarely placing the blame on those racist, violent whites.
There’s no denying that racism was rampant in the first half of the 20th century, and practices like red-lining were designed to keep black neighborhoods from expanding.
However, as a society we’ve bent over backwards since the Civil Rights Act of the 60s to encourage integration on a massive scale, to the point of implementing such recent disasters such as the Community Reinvestment Act which has done its part in tanking the nations entire housing market!
The bottom line is that funky neighborhoods don’t beget funky people, funky people beget funky neighborhoods, IMHO. Unfortunately, there are way too many examples of this to offer up as proof.
I live in a racially mixed little development with more blacks than whites and some hispanics. It is very middle class and we don’t have any problems that I have seen. It’s the content of character, not the color of skin.
