Just spoke to someone in the Lubbock office. I was obviously not the first caller on the subject.

I don’t care what ACU rating anyone has. If they are willing to assist in undermining an election, why should I give them any respect at all? If he’s willing to help the incumbant who is a well known moderate, then he isn’t that conservative now is he?

You may not put a great deal of value in the way your Senator votes, but I sure as hell do. That is why they get my vote, and their primary function.

And as far as "undermining" an election, Cornyn's job in the NRSC is to get as many "R's" in the Senate as he can to help push a conservative agenda. It is not easy trying to pick who will actually have a chance to win in the general election, and there is no doubt in my mind that he let's the state party leaders help make that decision, which is how it should be.

He's finding out this is not a normal election cycle. The people are forcing him to choose the most conservative candidate in the party primary without regard to their chances in the general.

The more conservative the candidate, the more I like it, but you won't get any legislation passed without a whole lot more "R's" in the Senate.

He's got a tough and thankless job...I don't envy his position.

They are BOTH “GOP” senators. These idiots are supporting their crony, because they don’t want conservatives in congress.

Thanks for your post. I think Sen. Cornyn also interfered with a Florida primary last year. Maybe someone here can clarify.

Being a Natural Born Texan, i am curious what my states politicians are doing when away from home.

FYI, If you call KSEV radio in Houston, 281-558-5738 Ask host Sam Malone about this (6AM to 9AM) , i think they interview Cornyn often.. And if im right, they would not like the Senator's actions interfering with Real conservatives.

In fact, i may call KSEV tomorrow if i can find out about the Florida thing......

I thought it was reported yesterday the NRSC was recalling their people on the ground in Alaska and they would no longer be interjecting themselves into the race. Has that changed?

Much ado about nothing.

As the head of the NRSC Cornyn is obliged to support the incumbent GOP candidate. That is Murkowski. He is sending someone to make sure that the votes get recorded accurately. He isn’t going to do anything to game the fight.

It would be great if he could actually support the more conservative candidate (or at least take a neutral stance) but he cannot.

Miller has a slim lead and I hope that he prevails. Once an incumbent himself, he will appreciate getting the support that Cornyn is currently giving Murkowski.

Sharron Angle, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio are all conservatives now getting support from Cornyn and the NRSC because they are the party candidate.

Remember when politicians lost elections, they actually, you know, CONCEDED.

Again, nobody is naive unless they want to be. It may be a non-issue now that the lawyer has left Alaska and assured Miller they are out of it but don't think for a minute that the GOP Senatorial committee was set out to keep their RINO. How would you like to be Miller and know that very powerful Senators have their lawyers battling/meddling/omnipresent for your opponent??

Are you claiming that Cairncross, at Cornyn’s behest, is attempting to suppress votes for Miller?

I believe if the base had not flooded calls to the NRSC, he would still be there leveraging every advantage possible to Murkowski. Are you OK with that??

I’m simply embarrarassed. My apologies to the rest of the country. We thought we’d elected a better man.

The little I know about this race is some history on Murkowski. From what I read about her I don’t care for her much. I know far less about Miller but hear that he is a ‘conservative’. I have yet to see much of anything to substantiate that.

Nevertheless he campaigned against her and it looks like he has a (razor-thin) lead over her. Cornyn sent a representative of the NRSC to Alaska. Other than representing the incumbent (Murkowski) I am not aware of any leveraging by Cairncross or anyone else.

If you have specifics I’d love to hear them.

I see your point but the game has changed. The future of our country is at stake.

"The more conservative the candidate, the more I like it, but you won't get any legislation passed without a whole lot more "R's" in the Senate."

Getting "legislation" passed is no longer the point if it is liberal "legislation".

Liberal legislation has been passing pretty much unimpeded. Cornyn is trying to fulfill his obligation to spend donor's money responsibly by not wasting it on candidates that can't ultimately win a Senate seat. Enough seats, and hopefully we can reverse most of what has passed in the last 2 years.

I have no problem with people letting him know that we want unapologetic conservative candidates...I just haven't seen a lot of proof that he is "protecting" RINO's because he is one. His voting record is very conservative.

Toward the end of a general election, if a candidate is far behind, the party will quit sending them money. They're not making an ideological decision, they are being frugal with money that they have a difficult time raising.

"Liberal legislation has been passing pretty much unimpeded"

That's the problem. This happens ever when the GOP is in power. Enough is enough.
