Al Qaeda in North Africa calls for Muslim reconquest of Spain

The North African terrorist group Al Qaeda in Maghreb, which recently released two Spanish aid workers after holding them hostage for nine months, has released a statement on an Al Qaeda-affiliated website calling for the reconquest of Spain in the name of Islam.

Abu Osama, a North African militant who has publicly taken responsibility for the killing of seven CIA agents in Afghanistan, called for the Islamic war in a message entitled “Ceuta and Melilla: Lost Treasures.”

In his statement, which was faxed to the Spanish daily ABC and a television station, Abu Osama said that the cities of Ceuta and Melilla, located near the edge of Morocco but controlled by Spain, were “under the empire of the Spanish Crusade” and had to be brought under “the authority of God.”

“After decades, Ceuta and Melilla have been sitting in the palms of the vengeful Crusaders,” Abu Osama wrote, declaring it was time for Al Qaeda militants in Morocco to return the sites to the “nation of Islam.”

His message, however, did not stop there, as he continued to state that the entirety of Spain belonged rightfully to Muslims as “our country,” and was ripe for reconquest.

The call to arms asserted Al Qaeda's view of Spanish history, which holds that up to 90 percent of the Spanish population accepted the Islamic religion between the eighth and fifteenth centuries, when most of the country was ruled by Muslims from North Africa and surrounding areas and referred to as “Al Andalus.”

By this account, Abu Osama said, Spain is rightfully a Muslim land, and had been re-Christianized only by a conspiracy of “the Popes and the Vatican” to suppress Islam in Spain. As such, he concluded, the land of “Al Andalus” belongs rightfully to Muslims, and should be taken back by Al Qaeda's usual means.

Abu Osama also contended that historical accounts of Muslim invasions did not suggest that Islam was a religion spread by the sword. Rather, he said, the very suggestion that Islam depended on violent proselytism was “a lie and a calumny that has been invented by the Vatican and the Popes, those who carry the sign of the cross.”

“The worst massacre in the history of humanity,” he alleged, “was the killing and expulsion of Muslims in Al Andalus.”

That expulsion, by some estimates, led to the death of up to 12,000 Muslims. By contrast, Islamist attempts to take control of the Moroccan government during the 1990s are estimated to have led to 150,000 deaths, an insurgency that Al Qaeda in Maghreb has continued to fight.

I say we let them have it again. As they are now, they are spineless and useless as allies. At least one Euroweenie nation will have to fall to Islam for the others to wake up. Spain is a darn good choice to let fall. Their cuisine is nothing to write home about anyway.

All the land in the Middle East the Muslims control and they want more. Nothing but world domination. These people flat-out need to be destroyed.

Considering Spain’s history over the past few years, especially their kowtowing to Muslim terrorist, I can see this happening.

Didn’t Spain pull out of Iraq? That spineless socialist didn’t buy enough goodwill by backstabbing us?

Prayers for Spain.

It could happen again, especially since Spain has shown weakness.

I say as they want a war, we should take over the Middle East and build 1000s of churches, and demolish the Al Aqsa Mosque and Dome of the Rock and build a Jewish Temple.

It’s hard for me to have sympathy for Spain after the electorate caved into the terrorist, and withdrew from Iraq because of train bombings, and elected socialists Islamic sympathizers.

Any deaths in the retaking of Spain were in legitimate battles between the Spanish army and the armies of the various Muslim leaders, not assaults on civilians. Actually, the only Muslims expelled initially were the rulers of the Muslim cities, and one of them was actually allowed to stay and keep his kingdom if he swore loyalty to the Spanish king. However, he soon started rearming and was then evicted.

As for the other Muslims, mostly peasants in Southern and Mediterranean Spain, they all had to be expelled some years later when they too rearmed and began carrying out bloody and gruesome raids on Christian villages.

If they retake Spain and reclaim the Cordoba mosque there, is there any chance the idiots liberals will stop denying the significance of the Cordoba House in New York?

“The worst massacre in the history of humanity,” he alleged, “was the killing and expulsion of Muslims in Al Andalus.”

Sorry, skippy. That one isn't even in the top ten. For starters, let's go with Sultan Abdul Hamid II's slaughter of Armenians. You guys remember that, I'm sure. It's where somewhere between 80k and 300k people were murdered by Muslims.

History will go the way it usually has. The Christian world will be attacked by muslim infiltrators, and will not effectively fight back. The people on the borders, who have to defend civilization, will fight, but will not get help from the central “safe” areas. They will continue losing until their backs are against the wall, and then finally the people will realize what is at stake, grow a spine, and in a bloodbath far bigger than it ever needed to be, will beat them back.

It is incredible how they turn the truth upside down. The Muslims INVADED Spain with an army, they did not go door to door passing our religious pamphlets.

Does everyone now belief that we are actually in a world war with Islam? This war is going on all over the world. It is truly a war even though it is an unconventional war. The Muslim world is getting worse—not better. Their savagery may have been somewhat suppressed because of European colonialism but now they are going back to their 7th century roots. The oil money makes them feel empowered and the mass immigration into the west as well as the palpable weakness and stupidity of our leaders excites their lust for conquest.

All the more reason to keep them out of our country! I wonder if the socialist fools in Spain are even hearing about this -probably not.

We Americans are very tolerant and forgiving people, so I’ve got a deal for the Muslims: we’ll get over 9/11 in exactly half the average of the times it takes them to get over the Crusades, the Reconquista and the founding of the State of Israel.
