I had the privilege of hearing her speak during her first run for office. She traveled to o small( Melbourne ) city to speak to the Rep. Women’s Club.
She was outstanding and left with a very large donation from the club and the group attending. I have been reading about her in the years since then.
This pick may cover a great many people of different interests. It may be a very good one.
An articulate, clean, black woman!( Sorry couldn’t resist!)

For awhile I thought Rick Scott was in the race to elect Alex Sink governor! But if his choice of Jennifer Carroll is true... he must now wanna win. She’s a conservative ageless beauty, who does not understand that black’s and their votes are “owned” by the “overwhelmingly white” liberal DemWits! Therefore she’s off the “plantation” and should be punished! (Thankfully we are now seeing more and more of ‘em!)
Those who are wary of Scott...I share in your trepidation BUT Alex Sink is a DISASTER! Everywhere shes been, she multiplies red tape to choking levels! With her its not how you do the job... its how you fill out the endless forms! Itsa dilemma for sure, but if Carroll is his choice for Louie... I may hafta reconsider!

Nope, I will sit that vote out. Haven't seen a democrat I was willing to vote for in 25 years.
But I won't vote an out and out crook either.
But I predict he will lose, in the primary, his establishment opponent couldn't garner the support for the ads that would really brand him a crook. The DNC will have the money. Sad thing is, this is the kind of republican that gives the media ammo to hammer the republican brand.

Because Carroll as Scott’s running mate would make the GOP ticket stronger against the Dems Sink/Smith.
I met her several years ago and was very impressed. She’s got Legislative experience and is retired military....both big pluses.
She’s from Jacksonville & Scott is from Naples....good coverage for FL.

Yes, FL-3 against Corrine Brown. There was little hope for a republican in that gerrymandered district but she came closer than anyone else.

I don’t think my NONE vote is a vote for the rat, but if you your personal integrity will allow you to vote for a man like Scott, just because he belongs to the same party that you do... That speaks VOLUMES about you.... We’re not talking about a difference on a policy or issue, We’re talking about making millions defrauding medicare. I will not vote for an out right crook, and I’m not the only one.
Scott gets beat, and it won’t even be close.

I must admit, I am torn. Scott is a crook, and not just any old crook. The excuses made for him here, about being the victim of a Janet Reno vendetta simply don’t fly. I do not plan on voting for him. That said, this would be a great pick. At this point, I think the best I can do now is to simply refrain from making posts against Scott here on FR. I have my reasons for not voting for him, I wont try to convince anyone else.

There have been several threads here regarding the Scott candidacy and his “history”. Please search those and scan them. In most of the pre-primary threads and some more recent, there is an analysis of Scott’s supposed corruption and medicare fraud. In a sound bite summary, Scott visibly and vocally lead the fight against Hillarycare. After Hillarycare’s defeat, the Clinton Administration up’d the number of audits from some hundreds to thousands. The rules and regulations are so confusing and convoluted, “violations” are a net given. Educate yourself. He may not be the best of the best. However, the assertions of corruption and fraud are misstated. In fact, shame on Bill McCollum for misrepresenting something he defended when in Congress.

bttt. This sounds like a woman who might want to be governor someday.
so, if Rick Scott LEFT the office, would she automatically become governor?
That is what happened with Chiles and McKay, right? Just before JEB! took office.
To: Tucson
You are wrong, I live in Florida and was attracted to Scott because he sounds so conservative in his ads. So I thoroughly researched the charges. To put it frankly, if HCA hadn't ponied up 1.3 BILLION, I think Scott would be in jail. HCA plead guilty to 14 felonies and Scott was allowed to slink away...
I will not vote for him, you are wrong if you do.

If you think voting for crooks is a virtue because they belong to the same party you do...
That says a lot about you...
If we got Alan Grayson because we ran a crook, then we deserve Alan Grayson. I think we got Grayson because he’s in a district with a bunch of liberal kooks.
We got Scott because he stole enough money he could finance his own campain, and too many people don’t look past the 30 second ads he bought with his millions.
While not being convicted of a crime is an indicator, it certainly isn’t proof. We could both sit here and name dozens. And most of those dozens didn’t have companies willing to pay a 1.3 billion dollar fine....
