Florida's illegal immigrants have fled state
Orlando Sentinel ^ | September 1, 2010 | Victor Manuel Ramos

The threat of illegal immigration may have been a political flashpoint in the recent Florida primaries, but a new study suggests that fewer undocumented immigrants call the state home.

The analysis by Pew Hispanic Center in Washington, D.C., found that more illegal immigrants have been leaving Florida than have moved in during the past few years. A small percentage have become legalized.

The population of immigrants living illegally in Florida dropped by an estimated 375,000 as the economic downturn worsened from 2007 to 2009, the study said. There were an estimated 675,000 undocumented immigrants in the state in 2009, down from more than a million in 2008.

As such, Florida has the highest decrease in illegal immigration in the country. The population for those who either crossed the border illegally or overstayed their visas dropped nationwide from an estimated peak of 12 million in 2007 to about 11.1 million in 2009.

The drop coincides with the recent economic downturn as well as increased immigration enforcement and a loud debate about more-restrictive immigration bills.

The ones that stay are having ‘legal babies’ and mooching off our social services. They all need to be made to leave.

It was reported purely to make you believe that the Obama administration is passively solving the problem of illegal aliens.

It is but another big lie that told loud enough and long enough will become accepted fact.

Our enemy the Obama government is devious and deceitful

Oh theres still a bunch of them but the numbers have definitely decreased since the housing boom went bust.
There used to be FAR more illegals working construction here.
Now, they are mostly gone.

The problem really was out of hand.

actual business card slipped onto car windows at the local Home Depot

I call BS.
They are still all over the place.
This is liberal spin in advance of the elections. They are seeding the “battlefield” and will CONTINUE to produce “happy news” so that it will demotivate the tsunami of anti-rat voters.

DO NOT believe this!

I have to wonder just how they ‘estimate’ the numbers! I don’t trust them, not one bit. Just like the unemployment numbers that I am convinced are pure fantasy, the numbers released chosen to back the spin of those who provide them.

IMHO, any numbers coming from a group that has a vested interest in seeing the numbers back their side are suspect.

Get real inflorida.
Try getting out of the mickey mouse land that is Orlando.
Go for a drive through LaBelle, Pahoke, South Bay, Belle Glades, Indiantown or any of a hundred other little forgettable towns in south florida.
The majority of folks in each is majority illegals. Ice, NEVER goes to any of them. A protected class as they work for big sugar (the Fanjuls) big citrus or the construction industrry.
This is a horse pooh story preffered by the libs trying to get ya to think we have no illegals problem.

More propaganda to pave the way for amnesty. The message is that illegal immigration is no longer a problem. It is under control. The reality is that no one knows how many illegals are here.

So they think they know how many there are, but have done nothing about it, these folks don’t know anything, they are like Charles Manson, making the rules up for credibility as they need..
I think most folks understand we are in a state of seige..

All the older, small to mid-sized industrial cities in the Northeast have been gutted of native population and swelled with illegal immigrants. If that’s the case, you know that change is nationwide and way more than the long quoted ‘12 million’ that Pew and others now are laughably trying to shrink further still to 8 to 10 million. Most Americans, I believe, will not be fooled.
