JACKSONVILLE
Republican nominee for governor Rick Scott is set to name State Rep. Jennifer Carroll as his running mate.
Scott's campaign said he would announce his choice for lieutenant governor Thursday in Jacksonville. Events in Orlando and the Tampa area will follow.
Carroll confirmed in an e-mail to The Associated Press early Thursday that she is Scott's choice.
The 51-year-old Carroll served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years and was elected to the Florida Legislature in 2003.
She would become the state's first black woman to be a candidate for lieutenant governor.

This will drive Crist crazy. Too funny. Can not wait to see the Lib Media spin it. Brilliant.
Is anyone keeping track of the color of skin of democrat candidates vs. GOP?....Probably not. The rats would loose their talking point of “racists’ and the same said racists are beyond the color of skin relying on character and experience for their choice.
Carroll is a class act - good pick from Rick.
3, 2, 1 . . . No, not the area code for the space coast but the countdown to the expected Scott is a criminal posts.
Jennifer is an excellent choice, she came the closest to ousting Corrine! from the gery mandered snake District 3 U.S. Congress seat and has actually gained more credibility since then. Jacksonville is finally gaining party prominence with John Thrasher also being named the replacement for discraced Jim Greer.
I saw some saying the Lt. Gov. pick should have been for someone in the Dade area because they went heavy for McCollum. Well if there was ever a chance for that sort of “fencemending” move, the snarkyness of McCollum joining the Sore Loserman ranks of politics did them in.
In other Florida news;
Tallahassee RPOF Chairman John Thrasher today released the following statement regarding the Florida Supreme Court ruling to remove proposed constitutional Amendment 9, Floridas Health Care Freedom Act from the 2010 General Election ballot.

how is this race looking now? last i heard Sink was ahead on average and with Chiles potentially dropping out does that help or hurt Scott?
i really hope this guy wins this thing
Yeah, I know. The other day I got blasted for supporting Scott because he was a "crook".
I read his bio and there were never any charges brought and he personally wanted to fight the feds in court but the board caved, made a deal with him and the feds.
I don't know how this makes him a crook.

Looks like she may be a fine choice.
Speaking as someone who did not support Scott, this may be his “Palin like” choice that gets me to vote for him....
It should discombobulate the Crats. How will they paint her as a Racist?
If he were guilty he would be in jail. I like Scott.
Let’s get to work. lolol.
No way he was involved in the day to day billing stuff or there would have been a paper trail.
She was a Trini! Great, those Trini women are tough! I’d vote for her.
Jennifer Carroll (born August 27, 1959) is a Florida Republican politician, business woman, and retired Lieutenant Commander, United States Navy who serves as the District 13 Representative in the House of Representatives of the State of Florida. She was first elected to the Florida House in a special election in April 2003.

She moved to Florida in 1986. She then received her Master of Business Administration degree from St. Leo University in 1991.
Interesting, at birth Ms. Carroll held a UKC passport...just like Obama did!
I rest my case. 1, 2, 3 . . . .post launch clock is running.
UKC?
They will.
Let’s face it. The left has shown time and again you don’t have to use your brains. Be a robot.
Carroll measured against Obama worshpper, and “Momma’s Boy” Kendrick Meek quite a difference. Welcome to the offices of Governor Rick Scott and Lt. Governor Carroll of the great State of Florida. Actually Mr. Meek should be conceding the Senate race now to Senator Marco Rubio!!! Actually I really do hope that Meek will lean on POTUS Obama to come to Florida to campaign for him!!!
Understand, but the birth issue is only of importance for the Presidency. She does not have those restrictions to deal with, just like Arnold.
I understand. I was the person who first discovered the UKC Passport issue and first posted it. She could be the perfect person to make Obama’s UKC issue, AN ISSUE!
Got it but with the addition of Lt.Gen. (RET) Thomas McInerney to supporting the Larkin case, she can focus on what ails our state. That is not to say she isn’t capable of an occasional supporting shot along the way.
There are a few here that will vote for Sink because they claim that Scott is a crook. Alan Grayson voters I call them
