Funny that he thinks that the universe can be created from nothing and yet can’t fathom the idea of God. Pitiful, little man. Just a thought
“The Big Bang was the result of the inevitable laws of physics and did not need God to spark the creation of the Universe, Stephen Hawking has concluded.”
Where’d those laws of physics come from Stevie?
Small wonder his wife beat him.
Do you know that Hawking cannot speak?
His COMPUTER voice does not have a british accent either
Then it exploded.
seriously, this guy is so overrated.
The fool sayeth in his heart “There is no God.”
Agreed. Where did gravity come from?
THEN BY WHAT PROCESS WAS THE UNIVERSE CREATED, GENIUS?
By your own admission, Hawking, your statement of faith is more ridiculous than any religion’s: I have faith that something created something, and you have faith that nothing created something.
If you can give one example, in this universe, of spontaneous creation, your statement might make sense.
“Hey - get your own dirt.”
I wish one of these eggheads would kindly explain to us unwashed ignoramusii just how those "laws" came into being to begin with. I totally believe in the Big Bang, but "someone" had to pull the trigger. ; )
All scientists know that matter acts and assembles into meaningful function with no underlying information to design and direct it.
“Information Happens, then Sh@t happens”
There it is! The leftist manifesto in a nutshell!
He’d just pissed off at God... poor guy, he could be in for a new body and mind if he were so inclined...
Makes a lot of sense, doesn't it? -sarc
Nothin’ from nothin’ leaves nothin’
You gotta have somethin’
If you wanna be with me
I’m quite perplexed by a person whose imagination can grasp the wonders unknown and unseen of this universe, yet cannot grasp the notion of an intelligence or a consciousness higher than that of man. Why must science and religion be a zero sum game?
A law without a lawgiver.
A creation without a creator.
An effect without a cause.
What a brilliant man.
So, why is there a law such as gravity? Mr Hawking is a smart man (although not a wise one) and he has succeeded in pushing back the boundaries of "starting points" more than most. But he has not explained everything. There is always a "why".
Someday he will meet his maker and answer for his arrogance.
Yeah, unless he came on the job site and pounded those nails personally- HE wasn't needed.
Where did the forces come from that enabled this "spontaneous creation"? Gravity created itself?
Does this kind of intellectual laziness pass for "science" these days?
There was no chicken, just the egg said a different way.
One day science will have answered all the questions in the universe except one.
And then they will refuse to answer that one remaining question because it will prove beyond doubt that God exists.
And God will laugh.
Why would the universe bother to create itself.
gee, I could have said it that way!
1 Cor 15:52
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Ah, the highly underrated Billy Preston.
Anyone who's read A Short History of Time knows that.
I am sure that God laughed at him for such a thought!
What the f&^% is the universe (or anything else for that matter) WITHOUT the consciousness of man?
Hey, ALL paths lead to God...
yes, they certainly do.
All but one path leads to God as JUDGE,
and that one narrow path leads to God as Savior.
There. Fixed it!
And here I thought Hawking was intelligent.
Romans 1 will help explain your thinking...
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools
Hawking has no more insight into questions like that then any random guy on the street.
This is why I am not an atheist; it takes too much faith...
Humans, according to the left/atheists:
Because there is a law such as gravity..”
And WHO designed the law?
Like many intellectuals, Hawking can’t see the forest for the trees.
But given his horrific persoanl situation I am lothe to criticize him personally. He was bound to come out a True Believer or an Atheist.
Poor man. I feel sorry for him.
God is the “Intelligent Designer”.
Otherwise, you must believe that a box filled with watch parts can be shaken (not stirred) and when opened - a completed watch that works perfectly!
Because men love the darkness...
This dude needs to dump his bag.
Best Post so far!
He has descended into lunacy. I guess he has abandoned his earlier delusional “multiverse” theory which he manufactured out of this air deal with the fact (as he acknowledged) that the anthropic theory pointed unerringly to a creator. So now he going with the theory that something that didn’t exist created itself out of nothing. That this violates every law of logic, physics and common sense is immaterial to him. “Thinking themselves wise they became fools.”
I got this nifty self-winding watch. It’s beautiful and runs itself by the laws of physics. But that doesn’t mean there wasn’t a watchmaker, let alone a watch designer involved in making it self-sustaining.
The fear of death is strong but I think the fear of truth is stronger. Too many people don’t want to admit a personal God because it means they must examine their own personal lives in accordance with the words of that personal God. They prefer an impersonal God who doesn’t care about their choices in life, or a nonexistent God.
