MINNEAPOLIS - The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is considering putting an off-leash dog area in Martin Luther King Park, and its stirring up heavy emotions on both sides.
Its a memorial park and some believe having a dog park there is disrespectful to the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Yet, the controversy is so typical of others lately who decides what public spaces become sacred ground and what does that really mean for all of us?

Get over it. Congressional Cemetery and Lincoln Park in Washington, DC are nothing more than huge dog parks.
I don’t know of any dogs that have flown commercial jetliners into skyscrapers killing 3000 Americans in one day.
So, what’s the offence?
I’d much rather see a dog park at ground zero than a mosque...The difference between a monument to man’s best friend vs a monument to man’s greatest enemy.

Agree. Even 50 quintillion dog poops are more desirable than one mosque.
That’s because dogs can’t be Muslims (Sarcasm).
Maybe some of the people complaining are Nation of Islam nuts. Dogs are unclean in Islam.

Yeah, I heard some iman clown in Iran a few weeks ago made it clear ya can’t live with dogs.
