Illegal immigrants prop up Social Security
The Palm Beach Post ^ | Frank Cerabino

We got some troubling news this week - illegal immigration is declining.

It's not only bad for those who intend to parlay brown-invasion paranoia into a government job (yes, I'm talking to you, Rick Scott), but also to anybody who's concerned about the future of Social Security. Illegal immigrants, it turns out, have been a godsend to the nation's retirement system. And if they go, we'll be in more trouble than we already are.

KEYWORDS: fools; illegals; immigration
Visiting in Fla. I saw this article...

I wonder if he understands the CURRENT cost of illegals far outweighs and small future benefits?

I wonder if he has considered that most illegals are not paying anything but are social service beneficiaries bankrupting the states and medicaid?

I wonder if he has considered that these illegals might be made legal or that law giving non US residents and illegal that worked here Social Security?

I wonder if he considered the cost of the money we are currently borrowing to keep afloat includes them and our kids will have to pay it back WITH INTEREST

I wonder if he considered MAYBE our unemployment rate would go down IF those jobs went to citizens

Ohhh I forgot..liberals don't think

I signed up in Feb. @ 62. I didn't WANT to, but it looked like if I don't now, I won't be able to later.

Be that as it may, I've already taken a 50% hit, what's another ?% to be part of the solution.

Damn Johnson and every socialist/progressive commie since.

I received this by e mail. History Lesson On Your Social Security Card - very interesting With the elections just a little over 4 months away you'll soon be hearing some Democrats running for political office, warning how the Republicans want to take away the old people's Social Security. Here are some facts you can pass along to all friends in your book. Education is a good thing and these facts can be easily proven, look them up for yourself! Subject: History Lesson on Your Social Security Card Just in case some of you young whippersnappers (& some older ones) didn't know this. It's easy to check out, if you don't believe it. Be sure and show it to your family and friends. They need a little history lesson on what's what and it doesn't matter whether you are Democrat or Republican. Facts are Facts. Social Security Cards up until the 1980s expressly stated the number and card were not to be used for identification purposes. Since nearly everyone in the United States now has a number, it became convenient to use it anyway and the message, NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION, was removed.[9] An old Social Security card with the "NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION" message. Our Social Security Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. He promised: 1.) That participation in the Program would be Completely voluntary. No longer Voluntary 2.) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual incomes into the Program. Now 7.65% on the first $90,000 3.) That the money the participants elected to put into the program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year. No longer tax deductible 4.) That the money the participants put into the independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the general operating fund, and therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program, and, Under Johnson the money was moved to the General Fund and spent. 5.) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income. Under Clinton & Gore up to 85% of your Social Security can be taxed. Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month -- and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal government to 'put away' -- you may be interested in the following: ------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- ---- Q: Which Political Party took Social Security from the independent 'Trust Fund' and put it into the general fund so that Congress could spend it? A: It was Lyndon Johnson and the democratically controlled House and Senate. ------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- -- Q: Which Political Party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding? A: The Democratic Party. ------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- ----- Q: Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities? A: The Democratic Party, with Al Gore casting the 'tie-breaking' deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the US. ------------ --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- - Q: Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants? AND MY FAVORITE: A: That's right! Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party. Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive Social Security payments! The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it! ------------ -- ------------ --------- ----- ------------ --------- --------- Then, after violating the original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away! And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it! If enough people receive this, maybe a seed of awareness will be planted and maybe changes will evolve. Maybe not, some Democrats are awfully sure of what isn't so. But it's worth a try. How many people can YOU send this to? Actions speak louder than bumper stickers.

the decline in receipts has nothing to do with illegals but rather with he massive number of unemployed and under employed for which Obama is directly responsible.

The article makes a perfectly valid legitimate point.
BUT, the notion that this little windfall even puts a dent in the costs in ER health care, incarcerating/deporting criminal aliens, property and personal damages to citizens, and general social service costs, is spectacularly ludicrous.

So if we got rid of illegals, Americans currently out of work could take those jobs and pay into SS?

Sounds like a plan to me.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the vast majority of illegal immigrants DO NOT PAY any social security taxes because they work for cash ‘under the table’. They pay no income taxes at all, but they are eligable in many states to collect all the same welfare benefits that US citizens are.

Here. Formatted with paragraphs and some other emphasis-formatting. Hope this helps.

I received this by e mail.

Can you imagine how well off the trust fund would be if it were truly a trust fund? The fact that we spend it faster than it comes in is criminal.

If they would just leave it alone....

LOL. Besides the fact that most illegal aliens probably don’t pay SS, the author doesn’t understand how SS works. It is a pay as you go system. Today’s workers, legal and illegal, are paying the benefits for today’s recipients. The 7 or 8 million illegals holding jobs are just doing jobs American citizens would be doing if they weren’t here.

His first premise in wrong, along with his conclusion....more is spent on SSI than ever gained in SS payments by illegals:

“We got some troubling news this week - illegal immigration is declining.”

Fox News and every other lame stream media propagandist is doing their best today to convince the public that illegal immigration is way down!!!

This is ALL about the coming push for amnesty.

Don’t buy into the lie!

This report out of Mexico tends to knock down the ‘fewer illegal aliens’ propaganda.

El Imparcial (Hermosillo, Sonora) 9/1/10 by way of NAFBPO’s M3 Foreign News Report

Current data re monetary remittances

Individual monetary remittances sent to Mexico from abroad rose 1.84% in July and reached 1.867 billion dollars. The U.S. is the largest source of these remittances and, despite the economic recession, Mexico has received 12.495 billion dollars from January to July. That, along with petroleum, constitutes one of Mexico’s largest sources of income.

_____________

Michael Cutler has some words about this:

I have been reading interesting news reports and watching discussions on news broadcasts about how the Pew Hispanic Center have determined that the number of illegal aliens present in our country has declined during the past two years. I have provided you with the article that appeared in the Washington Times Wednesday, September 1st about this very issue.

I am frankly having a difficult time understanding how the Pew Hispanic Center came to their conclusion and, frankly, I am at a loss to understand how representatives of organizations have been quick to embrace the theory put forward by the Pew Center.

I have provided you with a link to “2009 Yearbook of Immigration Statistics” that is produced by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). I urge you to check out the two charts I have provided you with below:

http://www.dhs.gov/files/statistics/immigration.shtm

You will notice that I have provided you first with the statistics of how many aliens secured lawful immigrant status in the United States from 2000 until 2009. You will see that in 2009 a total of 1,130, 818 aliens became lawful immigrants (were issued “green cards”). In the last ten years only in 2006 did we see a hire number of new lawful immigrants (1,266,129).

If the United States is no longer such a desirable place for the illegal aliens, why are the number of legal immigrants climbing?

Next I would suggest you check out the arrest statistics also taken from the DHS report. According to the DHS furnished statistics, the number of illegal aliens apprehended by special agents of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) totaled 21,877 for 2009 while in 2008 the number of such apprehensions was 33,573 and in 2007 a total of 53,562 illegal alien s were apprehended by special agents of ICE.

Detention and Removal Operations noted on the chart refer to illegal aliens who were identified as being incarcerated following their being convicted of committing felonies in the United States.

Border Patrol arrests trended lower from 2007 until 2009 but many factors come into play where those statistics are concerned.

The point is that I am not truly certain that there has been any reduction at all in the number of illegal aliens who are present in the United States.

Estimates as to what percentage of illegal aliens are apprehended by the Border Patrol vary so widely that it is impossible to correlate the number of illegal aliens who succeed in evading the Border Patrol as compared with how many are apprehended.

I also want you to take a long hard look at those statistics.

There are about 6,000 ICE special agents for the entire United States of America.

In 2009 those 6,000 special agents arrested a total of 21, 877 illegal aliens. This works out to an average of each agent arresting fewer than 4 illegal aliens for immigration law violations per year!!!

Doing a bit more computing, this means that the average ICE special agent arrested one illegal alien simply for violations of immigration laws every 3 months!

Yet the administration claims that enforcement is up?!

“godsend?”
I don’t think someone giving us a nickel and taking a wheelbarrow full of $100 bills is a “godsend!”
Seems more like a satansend.

FBI STATS
With all the negative reports being printed in the news media here are the statistics they fail to report.
• 83% of warrants for murder in Phoenix are for illegal aliens.
• 86% of warrants for murder in Albuquerque are for illegal aliens.
• 75% of those on the most wanted list in Los Angeles , Phoenix and Albuquerque are illegal aliens
• 24.9% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals
• 40.1% of all inmates in Arizona detention centers are Mexican nationals
• 48.2% of all inmates in New Mexico detention centers are Mexican nationals
• 29% (630,000) convicted illegal alien felons fill our state and Federal prisons at a cost of $1.6 billion annually
• 53% plus of all investigated burglaries reported in California, New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona and Texas are perpetrated by illegal aliens.
• 50% plus of all gang members in Los Angeles are illegal aliens
• 71% plus of all apprehended cars stolen in 2005 in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada and California were stolen by Illegal aliens or ”transport coyotes”.
• 47% of cited/stopped drivers in California have no license, no insurance and no registration for the vehicle. Of that 47%, 92% are illegal aliens.
• 63% of cited/stopped drivers in Arizona have no license, no insurance and no registration for the vehicle. Of that 63%, 97% are illegal aliens
• 66% of cited/stopped drivers in New Mexico have no license, no insurance and no registration for the vehicle. Of that 66% 98% are illegal aliens.
• 380,000 plus “anchor babies” were born in the US to illegal alien parents in just one year, making 380,000 babies automatically US citizens (which is UN-Constitutional; illegal).
• 97.2% of all costs incurred from those illegal births were paid by the American taxpayers.

Illegal alien migration into the United States costs American taxpayers $346 billion annually reported by the National Research Council.

I read an estimate that illegal aliens pay MAYBE $9 billion into social Security…which is only 1 ½ percent of Social Security paid in.

Provided this is true (and it’s hard to see how people being paid in cash contribute to SS) as a liberal this jerk obviously believes we should keep taking social security money from illegal aliens and laughing at them because they will never get anything back.

So we should become a nation run on a con game to keep from making any cuts. Sad!
