The Passions (And Perils) of Pamela Geller ["Atlas Shrugs" Blogger and FOX NEWS Contributor]
The Jewish Week ^ | Sept. 3, 2010 | Doug Chandler

Posted on 09/03/2010 3:34:02 PM PDT by justiceseeker93

Pamela Geller had had enough.

The right-wing blogger, whose vehement opposition to the planned Islamic community center near Ground Zero (a "mega-mosque," in her parlance) has earned Geller national headlines, rose from her seat at a Midtown diner last week and, fed up with the line of questioning, stormed out of a Jewish Week interview.

"Shame on you," she shouted, "shame on you." "Stop slamming the good guys."

...................................................

The sense of drama seems in part to define Geller, who can be seen on the Internet frolicking in a bikini and posing in a skin-tight Superwoman outfit. Her blog "Atlas Shrugs" has referred to Democrats as "National Socialists," has sided with Slobadan Milosovic, the late Serbian president charged with war crimes, and has claimed that Elena Kagan, the country's newest Supreme Court justice, admired "an architect" of Nazism. She also likened President Obama's opposition to settlement growth on the West Bank to preparation for the Holocaust and has provided space to one writer's view that Obama is Malcolm X's love child.

It's obvious that this is a hit piece on Ms. Geller from the left.

Although her brashness may irk the left-wing media, she wouldn't have been able to get any publicity for her causes at all if she had been the more sociable personality that this hack writer would want her to be.

I don't know what was said by Mr. Chandler at this interview that caused Pam to walk out, but judging from the tone of this profile, I wouldn't be surprised if she had valid reason to be irked by something he said.

Provided space for someone's view that Obama is Malcolm X's love child? Absent a bona fide Obama birth certificate, such a theory may be unlikely but can't been ruled out. So what's so outrageous about that, Chandler?

Sounds reasonable to me.

If these jerks going after her had read her books and knew what she has been through and seen, they’d be posting a different topic. “Hit” her if you want, but Atlas Shrugs is one of my favorite blogsites. Seeing a piece like this assures me I’ve chosen a “FAVORITE” wisely.

Pam Geller, according to the posted story, is 51 years old. I know that photo might be from a few years ago, but she still looks younger than that.

I don't know about that but ...

has claimed that Elena Kagan, the country's newest Supreme Court justice, admired "an architect" of Nazism.

Doug Chandler, the author of the posted article, got that allegation against Geller and most of the others from a lengthy "indictment" of her at Media Matters. Media Matters is a leftist "watchdog" group specializing in countering alleged "misinformation" put out by "conservative" media. It is believed by many to be connected to George Soros.

The "architect of Nazism" refers to a an individual whom Kagan discussed in her undergraduate thesis: a marxist German philosopher who became a supporter of Nazism.

The Jewish Week’s EIC wrote an article before the election saying McCain and Obama would be the same on Israel.

When did the “Jewish Week” go left? Grievance rots the mind. They are shilling for the same Muslims who would kill them. The editorial on the Fast of Gedillah is appalling too.

The Jewish Week's EIC wrote an article before the [2008] election saying McCain and Obama would be the same on Israel.

Maybe the Jewish Week editors agree with the National Jewish Democratic Council's guest of honor about that time. His name was Alcee Hastings. a black congressman from Florida and former federal judge who was impeached for taking a bribe. Mr. Hastings told his audience of Jewish 'Rats to actively oppose Sarah Palin. Why? Because Palin carries guns and hunts moose, and therefore doesn't like blacks or Jews.

As I said in another post on this thread, most, if not all, of the accusations against Pamela from the Jewish Week writer Chandler came from the "Media Matters" web site. "Media Matters" is a leftist group blieved by many to be funded by George Soros for the purpose of countering alleged "misinformation" promulgated by "conservative" media - as if conservative media, including people like Pamela Geller, was so powerful in the general scheme of things that Soros' meagabucks were needed to correct its errors.

When did the "Jewish Week" go left?

As a general rule, the political tone of any media outlet is set by the people who own it.

Who owns the Jewish Week? The publisher and editor are the same man: Gary Rosenblatt. So Rosenblatt may be a major investor or may be the pawn of some other leftist person or group which holds the purse strings.

I’m a big fan of Geller and her blog Atlas Shrugs. I’ve followed her as she built it into a force. She seems to be everywhere now - writing articles, on TV, organizing demonstrations, ad campaigns, and writing a book with Robert Spencer.

I’ve also followed the Jewish Week as Gary Rosenblatt took it further to the left and became part of the problem in this country. He is the archetype of the ‘liberal’ Jew who always votes Democrat, voting reflexively, and then rationalizing it to themselves. In Rosenblatt’s case he devotes himself to rationalizing it to his audience of readers.

I've also followed the Jewish Week as Gary Rosenblatt took it further to the left.

This is the same phenomenon we've frequently seen over the last fifty years with large big-city newspapers as well, whether owned by Jews or non-Jews. The New York Times was considered a "Republican" newspaper until the 1960s, believe it or not. The New York Daily News was considered "conservative" until it was bought by Zuckerman. (Before then, they had been owned by the Tribune Corporation, whose flagship newspaper, the Chicago Tribune, was - until new ownership came in sometime in the 1070s(?) - also considered "right-wing.")

This phenomenon of a general shift to the left in the American newspaper industry is one reason for the industry's decline over the years.

The same can be said for the major television networks and the magazine industry.
