Hugh Hewitt interviewed Senate minority leader John Boehner a few days ago, and could not get Boehner to commit to a rapid legislative agenda to repeal and reverse the democrats leftist legislative cramdown after the midterms in November. Boehner hemmed and hawed, sounding every bit like the establishment inside-the-beltway career politicians that got us into the dire economic mess that were in now.
To make matters worse, Bill Kristol related to Hewitt on yesterdays podcast that he asked a high-ranking GOP leader what their plans were, what they intended to do should the GOP take control of one or both Houses of Congress, and this unnamed source said that they were trying to get members to sign off on a No Earmarks pledge, but said it was very tough going. Kristol was incredulous.
In this election year, with this blatantly obvious tidal wave of resentment and outright anger rushing toward establishment politicians (and quasi-socialist redistributionist Democrats), there are not enough Republican lawmakers with the backbone and moral courage to sign a pledge banning pork barrel spending?

Senate minority leader John Boehner ?????
I am sad to offer that I think there is but one even that will ever return us to a small government of the original Constitution with restriction of the activities thereof to the limited enumerated powers.
There are just too many tempting baubles for the political and ruling class that they would have to make themselves give up. They aren’t going to do that willingly. Most of these people wouldn’t have a pot to pee in or a window to throw it out of if they were not politicians.
I don't know about you guys, but I am getting pretty tired of ANYBODY who uses un-named sources.
If you don't have the spine to come out, then "STFU"!! (in quotes because I don't believe in "un-named sources")
RATcare cant be repealed before 2013 because da One will veto any such legislation.
If the GOP takes the House, it can defund the wretched scheme. I’ve heard Boehner say that is what he intends to do.
As long as we republicans continue to make the “practical” choice, and not the principled one in primaries we’ll never roll any of this back. It’ll just get worse until finally our representative republic isn’t.
Oops, Sen. John Boehner. Whatever, how about citizen John Boehner?
Oops, Sen. John Boehner. Whatever, how about citizen John Boehner?
1. Elimination of lawsuits against doctors and other medical providers. There would be a general fund to compensate victims of malpractice for actual damage and a non-inbred system for weeding out those guilty of malpractice.
2. Elimination of the artificial exclusivity of the medical system. In other words our medical schools could easily produce two or three times the number of doctors they do with no noticeable drop off in quality.
3. Elimination of the various games which drive the cost of medicines towards unaffordability.
4. Elimination of the outmoded WW-II notion of triage in favor of a system which took some rational account of who pays for the system and who doesn't. The horror stories I keep reading about the middle-class guy with an injured child having to fill out forms for three hours while an endless procession of illegal immigrants just walks in and are seen, would end, as would any possibility of that child waiting three hours for treatment while people were being seen for heroin overdoses.
All of those things would fall under the heading of what TR called "trust busting". There would also be some system for caring the truly indigent, but the need and cost would be far less than at present.
This story proves no such thing.
(That Obamacare is here to stay or that the GOP leadership will let it stay.)
There are a lot of times where I’ve liked Mr. Boehner being my congressman. On the other hand, he voted for TARP. Before that awful piece of legal tripe was excreted, I wrote to all my pols, including him. I said, in effect, you have one vote that’ll make all the difference to whether I vote for you. He voted for it anyway. Unfortunately, with the primary system, while I can vote “off,” I’ve no alternative, genuine conservative to be able to vote for, doggone it.
I think all this talk is pretty vague, borders on hearsay and premature at best.
The Republican “establishment” doesn’t get it yet.
It will certainly be a real fight. The Republican party does not have much of a record of undoing the sins of the Democrats. On the national level, have they ever really rolled back any of this stuff?
I say that with reluctance, because I think Obamacare will destroy our country. But we are going to have to push them VERY hard, because they are extremely reluctant to get the message, as we see again and again.
I dont really believe a whole lot of this article. Boehner is in the house not the senate.
He is House Minority Leader, not Senator.
Also, he will try to defund Obamacare if elected Speaker until a new President will sign its repeal.
This story is bogus.
I agree but the reprisals in 2012 and beyond will be worse for the Dims and rinos if he does.
I’m starting to think more and more about tipping points. I don’t know when it it will come, or what form it will take, but I now wonder what will cause the transition from flying ‘Don’t Tread on Me’ flags to ‘Lock and Load’.
In previous interviews, Boehner has pledged he will go for repeal of Obamacare in the House (recognizing that it cannot be passed over a Presidential veto, but it can be de-funded).
Further, Sen. Jim DeMint has stated that he believes the House can be counted upon to do this. But he is uncertain about the Senate.
Accordingly, I call misinformation on your post.
At least Hugh is beginning to ask the right questions.

Veto da One!
boehner wont be the majority leader, a tea party candidate will be, he will be sat in a corner and told to shut up and let the adults show him how it is done.
And people look at me like I’m a wacko reprobate when I mention the words “Civil War”?
The interview was extremely disheartening. It may soon become a two front war...
I noticed that too. Sounds like bs. At least I hope it’s bs.
I sure hope is doesn’t become Senate Majority Leader. The guy has no spine.
Jim DeMint for Majority Leader!
Being as his wife is employed by a lobbying firm (if I remember an former article correctly) and he likes money ... repeal is not eminent.
We must elect people in November who will repeal. That is the only true option.
REALITY CHECK for those calling for Boehner’s head(if indeed this account is true): This election will NOT enable the Rep’s to repeal ObamaCare, even if they got a majority in the House and Senate.
They would need a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate PLUS a 2/3 veto-overriding majority in the House. Obama holds this little tiny thing in his hand called a veto pen, essentially voiding any movement against his deathcare plan until January 2013.
The only thing this election is about is slowing or stopping the plunge toward socialism. It will take multiple election cycles to rectify the damage done in the last 4 years.
LOL! Bingo!...I’m afraid.
These stories are not myths. Fortunately, neither time nor insurance were a factor when I experienced them with my kid (an hour's wait before sewing didn't change anything except harden my attitude about illegals).
Mike Pence for House Majority Leader! He is much more conservative, and well spoken. No Ummmms Uhhhs, or spin!
BUT he won’t commit to that either. Nor would he sign Paul Ryans plan for the Congress should they take over the majority. Just more hemmms and hawwws.

I guess they haven’t figured out that we are tired of all the incumbants and their do nothing attitude.
The minute the dems get control of the house again, THEY JUST START FUNDING IT AGAIN.
It must be killed, dead, buried, never to be heard from again.
I dont' know just where you heard about filling out forms for 3 hrs, sorry it done not happen, if you have any type of insurance you give them your info and hand over the card.
you might have to wait 3 hrs to be treated, but not spend 3 hrs filling out forms
Defunding is a temporary measure until we have a GOP president, or a veto-proof majority.
Personally I think there is a good chance of the law being found unconstitutional, which will make the issue moot.
Agreed. “Unnamed sources” is a cop-out unless it has to do with national security and you work for the CIA. Damn! I am so tired of this crap that I want to spit. But instead I think I will just go and have another stiff drink and watch some cartoons!
The triumph of hope over experience. Anyone who thinks the GOP is going to ride in and play dragon slayer is deluded. They're just going to want to know when the Waygu will be served.

Mitt Romney (hiding somewhere):
Now that my Romneycare (funded 60% by US taxpayers)
is being pushed by my chosen (RINO) Republicans,
a little self examination is in order.
You may want to ask yourself 'if I had spent my time promoting
RomneyCare and Mitt Romney, could not
I have today garnered more support
of both Obama and Romney?'. Now go play with your bananas.
Nice cartoon, only the left should have shown a slide and the right a mouse maze.
Yup.
Too much information to the contrary.
Who is this Chris Rowan, anyway? I cant find anything on him.
I think Boehner will become the Speaker of the House. So, he voted for TARP? Most of them did and did so according to the false facts given them by Hank Paulson & Company. Our president and all panicked and didn’t take the time to think this thing through before granting a bailout. McCain voted for it, and so did zero and Biden, but, no one,and I mean NO ONE mentions the fact that those 2 were also part of it. Nope, let’s beat up the Republicans. They were all deceived!
I didn’t like how Eric Cantor talked to Laura I on the BOR show last week, I am pretty sure she was trying to tie him down to the same thing and I was not impressed. Turned me off.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the Republican faction of the Ruling Class is getting ready to screw us again.

And this surprises — who?!
THIS bunch of “Tea Party” Conservatives must be warned NOT to be co-opted as the Conservatives of the 1994 “revolution” were. They must be told that betrayal this time will not be accepted happily and politically. The Republic is at stake — and we’ve NO MORE TIME to waste!
Sorry, but who says Boehner has to be the Majority Leader? here’s hoping Republicans come to their sense and make Michelle Bachman the Majority Leader.
Defund is not repeal. The gop wants to keep it in place to use it as a campaign issue against the rats.I dont trust either party one damn bit.
