POLICE in Bosnia say they believe they have located a young woman shown in a video throwing puppies into a river. Police in the central Bosnian town of Bugojno say they have found the girl they suspect is seen on the video killing six newborn puppies by throwing them into the river one by one.
The disturbing video provoked worldwide outrage after being posted online earlier this week.
Police say they have located the girl, who is a juvenile, from leads given by animal protection groups in the country.
The girl's parents will soon be questioned, police said.
Under recently adopted animal protection law, people can be fined up to $A7030 for cruel treatment of animals.

Taking bets on whether the girl is Muslim.
I was thinking the same thing.
Muslims put dogs and pigs in the same category so I think she will get away with it. This story will go nowhere.
The deal was when the Turks took over they offered the nobility the chance to keep their estates and continue to lord it over everybody else simply by becoming Moslems. They didn't need to give up their normal practices.
Muslims put dogs and pigs in the same category so I think she will get away with it. This story will go nowhere.
...dogs and pigs AND JEWS
City people would often drive out to the country and loose their unwanted dogs and cats thinking that the farmpeople would take them in.
The dogs oftentimes formed packs and acted like wolves until we shot them dead. The cats proliferated into feral beasts.
Unlike this girl, we put the puppies and/or kittens in burlap bags and tossed the lot into the water.
We also slaughtered cows, swine and poultry. And then we either ate them or sold them.
Maybe she’s a witch. Now you may ask, how can we tell if she’s a witch?
She’s made out of duck?
Not sure what an ‘$A’ is, but the ‘Bosnia-Herzegovina Convertible Mark’ is 1.5 per dollar, so 7,030 would be about $4600, a fair chunk of change over there and anywhere.
Agreed. People put animals to sleep for all sorts of things, and I not only grew up on a farm (Although a very small one) but I now do cat rescues. I tell no one about what I do, because people drop off animals all the time with no regard to my struggle (Even after they learn about my struggle!)
For many people, it’s “out of sight out of mind”. These also look like Pitbulls, and love them or hate them - there are too many damned pitbulls.
Did you ever think about moving on to bigger game, like small children?
How much you talkin?
Yeah well maybe there are too many damned cats. Maybe you could get your daughter to go toss all your “rescues” in the nearest river. Geez

The young woman who was shown in a video throwing puppies into a river was found by police.
Was just having this conversation with a friend. I lived on a farm for awhile and the farmer told me that his daughter was 12 before she figured out that cats have more than one kitten in a litter! (The rest in a burlap bag with a rock and into the pond).
The neighbor said that was the way her mom did it with the puppies and cats too. Kept one, drowned the rest. I guess it is less humane than a needle. But probably pretty much par for the course for being a farmer where raising animals and killing them is an everyday affair.
Of course I’m pretty sure that for the farmers it is a matter-of-fact situation and they don’t do it squeeling in delight like this deranged girl.

The world is upset over 6 new born puppies being killed (method is irrelevant)
What about the 3,000 unborn human babies being tossed into trashcans daily??
If I’m not supposed to be bothered by the deaths of more than 1.2m human babies per year... Just in the US... I’m sure not going to be bothered about 6 puppies. Does that make me heartless? No. It makes me consistent (although personally outraged by both)
Good. A little psychopath in the making.
How many abortions do you think this little girl child will have when she gets older? People who are cruel/abuse animals usually move on to humans. I get your point but it’s all horrible!
Very evil and demented.
TANKS! JOE!

Gee, maybe BOTH are wrong?
God cares about the sparrows...just as He cares about us.
We had all BETTER care about the babies AND cruelty to animals....
THAT was totally uncalled for...
Well I had my son put down my sick old cat last summer. Hard for us all as we loved her and she brought us joy. Took her out in a field...shot her in the back of the head. She never saw it coming. Buried her in a down blanket in his backyard.
When I shared this with my grand-daughters they were shocked and stunned....one ran off and cried because we shot the cat. I couldn’t believe their reaction. That was as bad as when they cut the dying trees in their yard down...my son heard all about ‘saving the trees’...
Kids today are entirely to sensitive about the “norm” of life ....and times other generations have known...and not nearly close to being sensitive about what they should be. That goes for the adults as well.
Kind of the point
If a kid is doing this for entertainment, what will entertain her as an adult? I would call her an animal, but animals are above this kind of behavior.
In June, two Sunni Muslims from Sarajevo bombed the police station in Bugogno resulting in the death of one muslim police officer, and a female muslim employee.
The Bosnian federation is receiving assistance from Turkey which is being hailed as model of cooperation between ethnic groups.
There are over 3600 radical muslims fighters who stayed around after the war in BiH.
Sadly, I think they have bigger problems in the near future than someone drowning those poor little puppies.
It's an Australian newspaper, so probably Australian dollars.
Thank you for clarifying.
I don't understand why the girl would permit her actions to be recorded in a video. The camera was right next to her, she almost had to know it was running.
The face and the hands in that picture look rather masculine.
Just sayin’.
I would make a comment but I can get the same result throwing a couple gallons of diesel fuel on my burning garbage in the burn pit.
Or maybe the whole thing is a hoax.
God bless you.
Folks in the country still do this,,,
Packs that are owned generally have more pups than can
be fed,,,
Some are kept and some are given away,,,
Some are killed,,,
Fact of life...
We really don't need to issue bag permits on children because over a million per year are bagged before they are even born! Some are killed while being born, heads crushed while partially outside the birth canal. Nope, the city slickers have that category locked up tight.
How about liberals? I googled your name and see you are a regular poster on the Daily KOS and are a new poster here (Apr 2010).
So I thereby assume you don't know what you are talking about, have no personal experience with the subject on hand and are pathologically committed to turn every item into a political issue.
Go back under the bridge.
By the way, farmers have also developed a more modern way to kill trolls. We sneek up behind them when they are taking a drink of water and then we slam the toilet seat on their head.
Some people display no common sense because they do not have a perspective of a rural life, thereby no sense of the common. They see farmland as bucolic when actually the rural peoples are in a daily fight for life.
Animal activist are like environmentalists: they do not give an inch once a position is taken. Oftentimes they support the genocide of millions of unborn children but weep at the death of a puppy.
Oddly, Hitler suffered the same malady.
Yes, in my experience it was matter-of-fact, not tortuous. Why this was video taped and posted on the web is beyond me. Certainly literature tells us that many of those who torture animals at a young age suffer later in life significant mental illness.
Good to see a sinner showing restraint; obviously something I need to improve.
Is that Unk as in Vonnegut's Unk?
The city folks probably never wondered why there were no chocolate labs before the 1960's. Breeders drowned them in a bucket of water first thing; and they probably did it with a smile on their face, happy to be rid of them. What is cruel about that? At a slaughter house when I was growing up the steers would be confined in a tight line and one by one brought up to the killing location where they were hit over the head with a sledge hammer. They collapsed, the trap door opened and the slid into the butcher chamber where they were hoisted by their rear legs, throats cut, and gutted all in 60 seconds; many of them still had hearts beating when the gut pile fell to the floor. Want see something really frightening, look into the terror in the eyes of the steers in that tight line watching their buddies being killed. Still, we all ate steaks and thanked the grocery store for such great meat in cellophane wrappers.
How Long Does It Take To Drown?
The short answer is that you basically start drowning as soon as you lose consciousness. This varies a lot, depending on circumstances (how the person ended up in the water in the first place), and water temperature. But a general figure is 2-3 minutes to lose consciousness, and a total 5-10 minutes to die (hypthermia creates the upper limit).
There should be just as many posts about killing puppies on the abortion threads as there are posts about abortions on this thread.
This fixation of equating abortion to every other topic makes y’all look like snake handling idiots to a lot of the right, center and the left.
One of my coworkers that I pointed toward FR made this comment to me when there were abortion comments made on a thread about ball point pens or some such.
I know it has ennured me to even clicking on the abortion threads.
I by no means support this girl, nor her actions.
But she shares my hatred of impulse pet buyers, those who let unfixed animals stray, and then ignore them until they die.
Like my a-hole neighbors.
