Wouldn’t it be great if it really was a lame duck session and they didn’t do anything at all. I think we’d be ahead of the game if that were the case.
It is impossible to impeach a member of the legislative branch.
There is no legal mechanism.
A sitting legislative member can be defeated for re-election. He can resign his seat. He can be expelled from the body he sits in by the body itself. Those are the only three ways.
Impeachment is reserved for certain members of the executive and judicial branch. Bill Clinton was impeached (just not removed from office). Judge Alcee Hastings from Fl was impeached and removed from the federal bench (but got himself elected to Congress and serves there now).
There’s a reason why examples of impeached officials NEVER INCLUDES EXAMPLES OF LEGISLATIVE MEMBERS. YOU CANNOT NAME ONE. THERE AREN’T ANY.
Simply because it cannot be done.
I live in a gerrymandered distrist where Alcee is my congress thief.Well aware of his situation.
I just was not aware there is no mechanism for the people to do it.
Thanks, for the info.
