Open letter to conservatives who back same-sex marriage
WND ^ | September 6, 2010 | David Kupelain

Just two years ago, supporting homosexual marriage was such an extreme, politically radioactive position that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton – both Alinskyite progressives and long-time gay-rights supporters – saw fit to publicly and repeatedly declare their opposition to same-sex marriage.

Today, as the homosexual newspaper the Washington Blade puts it, "conservatives have taken the leadership role in achieving marriage equality."

That's right. Not only have high-profile conservatives like Glenn Beck, "The View's" Elizabeth Hasselbeck, Laura Bush, Dick Cheney and many others publicly offered their ringing endorsement of men marrying men and women marrying women, but some on the right are, as the Blade reports, actually leading the charge.

Case in point: George W. Bush's solicitor general Ted Olson has been dedicating his time as one of the two lead attorneys who successfully challenged California's Proposition 8, which had enshrined in the state's constitution the fact that, as Hillary Clinton put it, "marriage is as a marriage always has been, between a man and a woman."

Indeed, proclaims the Blade, when it comes to the battle to legalize same-sex marriage, it is conservatives who "have achieved the most important success so far as they are the most willing and most able to take the case to the Supreme Court."

...

And S.E. Cupp, a young conservative Daily Caller columnist and frequent Fox pundit, goes so far as to say, "Conservatism and gay rights are actually natural allies. Conservatism rightly seeks to keep the government out of our private lives, and when you strip away the politics of pop culture, it's this assertion of privacy and freedom that the gay rights movement is essentially making."

Okay, so here's my worry: It seems like every day another Republican or so-called conservative says they're now for gay "marriage". It only seems to go one way. I cannot think of one high-profile Democrat or liberal who has ever said something along the lines of, "You know what, I've thought carefully about the issue and come to the conclusion that the world is changing, I was wrong, and I now believe marriage should only be between a man and a woman." It's always the right caving in to the pro-gay side. How will this trend ever be reversed?

Has it ever occurred to you that you are hearing only what the MSM wants you to hear?

That occurs to me every time they put something in print.

Conservatives approve of same sex marriage?

I didn’t see any conservatives in that list.

Republicans, yes.. Conservatives, no.

Listen up.

It will not be stopped.

It cannot be stopped.

We have so dumbed down the people that they are incapable of understanding what are the causes of our coming collapse.

Simply put: Self government, requires self control. A people unwilling to self regulate their passions and lusts will soon there after be unable to control their spending, their education, and eventually their own self defense.

It is not that Homosexuality causes these things. It is very simply that the open acceptance of homosexuality is the very last “Bridge Out Ahead” sign on the highway to hell.

We are about to pass it. Once we do, momentum will take us over the end of the bridge and to our fiery death below.

Like the joke says. It’s not the fall that kills you. It’s the sudden stop at the end.

So please, no “you are just giving up” or “You are helping the sodomites win”. Please, I nearly got banned for calling these wicked abominations what they are and by direct order, I am not allowed to use such words. So know, I am as opposed as any can be. But we HAVE lost.

It’s over. Deal with it now while you are still free to do so. Deal with it while we can still have a somewhat free debate here. The day is coming and coming so fast, when even your church will not be able to say the very Word of God without being closed, arrested, sued, or killed.

Teach your children how to live for Christ in a soviet styled nation. It is coming and it is already within our own house as we sleep!

When I say deal with it, I mean as if you were just woken by the sounds of men in you home and about to open the bedroom door in seconds and you have NO weapons able to stop them.

What do you do?

Prepare!!

I consider myself socially conservative and do not think churches should be forced to participate in or sanctions that are inconsistent with their beliefs.

If that’s what gay marriage is, then I’m against it. If, on the other hand, gay marriage is making life easier for two (or ten) people, then I don’t care.

The issue has become so political that the obvious solution — get government out of the pews — is not an option.

I understand the ‘slippery slope’ theory and appreciate that this could become a stepping stone to adoption rights and other things I don’t think are good for society, but put a gay marriage/pro life on the ballot with a defense of marriage/pro choice candidate and it’s a no brainer for me.

Once upon a time, homosexuality was considered a mental disorder, to be so afflicted would automatically disqualify someone from obtaining a security clearance, or to be allowed to teach children, and it would get that person dishonorably discharged from the military with no ifs, ands or buts. I have seen nothing to suggest that those (and other) prohibitions on homosexuals were unwarranted.

Human behavior may change, but the laws of nature do NOT change, nor does the Word of God, which states that such behavior is an abomination.

Dittow, wizwor, although I do think gays should be able to adopt. I have several gay friends who are doing a spectacular job raising adopted children, and one couple went out of their way to adopt special needs children.

The Bible actually says it is a mental disorder as well.

In Romans it says because they did not WISH to RETAIN knowledge of God, He gave them over...

He does not give up on Murderers, Adulterers, Thieves, Liars. He does give up on the Sodomites.

Why? Because they are not reprogrammable after a certain point. They go down a dark road into mental defect from which there is no return.

This is why so FEW do repent and recover. Oh, some do, Praise Be. But most do not, will not, cannot.

We are in a period of tyranny of the minority and have been for years now. Much evil (abortion) has been made okay.

God help us in our day.

God allows men to do evil and go his own way, and there are consequences.

Once upon a time, marrying someone of a different race was considered to be an actionable crime... Once upon a time women were considered property...

All that the GOP has to do to win big in November is keep its mouth shut. Every time that these so-called leaders in the Conservative and Libertarian parties opens their mouths, they lose votes. Why create division when it is not needed? There are enough things that divide us as it is.

Lots of Freepers say the same as you and they are not being banned or Kicked off or warned. The moderators don’t want us being uncivil to one another that’s all. Homosexuality is an abomination...and there will be none that continued to practise such in their lives allowed into heaven! If the moderators are banning this then Free Republic has become corrupted. But I don’t think we’re there yet!

Conservatives who back same sex marriage are like conservatives who back subsidized government medical care.

Conservatives who back same sex marriage are like conservatives who back the removal of age of consent laws.

Conservatives who back same sex marriage are like conservatives who back mandatory community service for school children.

Conservatives who back same sex marriage are like conservatives who back abortion.

“If, on the other hand, gay marriage is making life easier for two (or ten) people, then I don’t care.”

If the government takes someone’s property without compensating them, I really don’t care. It doesn’t affect me. If they take away my neighbor because he is Jewish, why do I care? I’m not Jewish.
