Here's 400,000 pounds of too much American flag for the school...

As James Taranto reported in Best of the Web, last week, those who hate their own culture and symbols are Oikophobes, the opposite of xenophobes. They hate their own culture because they dream of a borderless world, free of nationalism, with a one world government and socialism.

I too wondered if the security guard who started this is Mexican, or maybe an illegal. The latter wouldn’t surprise me.

Your post needs bumped for the kneejerks.."I read this story yesterday. This is misleading.... The school did NOT tell the student that he couldn’t have the flags on his truck. It was a security guard who took it upon herself to tell the kid he shouldn’t fly the flags. The school officials, however, said that the security guard didn’t have the authority to tell the student that and they would speak with her. The school said they have flags all over the school and wouldn’t have a policy that didn’t allow the students to display a flag."

Ask the geniuses what "E pluribus unum" means.

Do you remember when Al Gore said it meant "Out of one, many?"

I wish I could do that to my motor home. It's a ‘73, and has that corrugated aluminum skin that makes putting anything on it an impossibility.

"she doesn’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable.”

She obviously doesn't mind making Jeremy Stoppel feel uncomfortable.

Burning the flag is “freedom of speech”, but displaying it is not?

People living in the United States of America who are offended by the flag of the United States of America should do themselves a huge favor and move to whatever country it is which flag does not offend them.

Seriously.

Would we ever be allowed to forget if President Bush (either one) had ever said anything so monumentally stupid?

If the flag of the USA is offensive to the school administration then fly a Nazi flag, a USSR flag, or Imperial Japanese flag. Or to really offend them fly a flag from Mozambique. I am sure the picture of the AK-47 on it would really offend them.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself) The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
