MILWAUKEE A combative President Barack Obama rolled out a long-term jobs program Monday that will exceed $50 billion to rebuild roads, railways and runways, and coupled it with a blunt campaign-season assault on Republicans for causing Americans' hard economic times.
GOP leaders instantly assailed Obama's proposal, which is also likely to be met with reluctance by many Democrats to approve additional spending and higher federal deficits just weeks before elections that will determine control of Congress.
That means the plan has low odds of becoming law this year. Administration officials said that even quick congressional approval would not produce jobs until sometime next year, raising questions about what, if any, pre-election impact it would have beyond showing job-hungry voters that the White House is trying to ease unemployment.

Keep digging, Stroker. Keep digging.
False promises from a false messiah, corrupt fruit from a corrupted tree.
“That means the plan has low odds of becoming law this year”.
HAHA - And not a snowballs chance in Hell of becoming law after the Nov midterms.
Fired up...ready to go? (leave office?)

Paving roads and laying tracks may put some people to work for a short term, but it will not produce one dimes worth of marketable merchandise or have any effect on the real infrastructure of our country; the small businesses of America!
We need an immediate(40%)tariff on imported goods and services, and a loss of tax incentives to take manufacturing jobs to third world countries.

I think when history is written about this Administration -
SHOVEL READY says it all.
Shovel the sh$% America....
Geez, how about let's let the recovery run its course? Maybe keep the tax rates the same for now at least?
0bama mocked those of us who said this was a worse than usual dive in the business cycle. As if there is no business cycle. Of course that's because he has no idea what he's talking about WRT economics, and relies on commies/Keynesians (similar, I know) for advice.

That little white girl is clearly a racist.
“We’ll get back with ya AFTER the November elections there, AnnointedIdiot, kkthx.” =.=
Someone speculated on another thread that this might be disinformation. Obama is putting this idiot program forward so Dem congresscritters can vote it down, and then tell their voters that they are fiscally responsible.
Could be, but I’m not sure how well that will work. Their opponents can point out that they already voted for a trillion dollars worth of stimulus, and that if re-elected they’ll probably do it again.
Of course if it is such a good idea, why didn't you put this in place with the STIMULUS Bill? Gee, what an idea!
The last crap sandwich you served up was so tasty Mr. President, I’m sure we all would love another one.
“Paving roads and laying tracks may put some people to work for a short term,”
It’s a liberal joke. And he already has stimulus money for that. He is manipulating liberal dreams that recovery, and jobs, are mere functions of government policy, without looking at government debt and bailouts soaking up domestic credit.
Not that Republican politicians will point that out, because they are guilty too of seeing the American government and our future, and something to be gamed. Everytime a Republican peeps about Obama’s spending the Democrats scream “you too!”, and they are right. Bush and his decrepit team started the fall with deficits, and more, a couple of stimuluses which were purported to be miracle cures.
You should see my head spin around when I see those signs... always propaganda by empty pits, with no evidence of any work in sight.
Are you vieing for a spot on Obama’s cabinet?
No tie again.... Looking like Ahmadina, whatever the Iran dictator’s name is.
Obama and Friends are Shovel Ready.
His vision seems targeted on the old Soviet "it's harvest time" propaganda films.
“That means the plan has low odds of becoming law this year. Administration officials said that even quick congressional approval would not produce jobs until sometime next year, raising questions about what, if any, pre-election impact it would have beyond showing job-hungry voters that the White House is trying to ease unemployment.”
So he’s wasting everyone’s f*cking time.
Go back on vacation, dumbass!

So, if I understand this correctly, Obama went to Democrat Wisconsin to talk to union workers to take another 50 bil from us to pay for states municipal unions to build bridges and roads.
As an aside, anyone notice that the two microphones in front of Obama looks like Mickey Mouse? Just like his administration.
Tariffs are federal taxes.
>> We need an immediate(40%)tariff on imported goods and services, and a loss of tax incentives to take manufacturing jobs to third world countries
Are you looking for more union bloat?
I’m of two minds concerning the import of good and services. The short term benefit of isolating manufacturing is inevitably obscured by the threat of labor liability.
Unions are not without fault concerning the deteriorated state of domestic manufacturing.
HE is LIVE on the TV now SCREAM PREACHING to some union crowd in Michigan some where.
I left the house came back and his scream preaching continues
Even if this commie bastard pays off my house and puts a few million in my checking account, I still ain’t voting for him
Brilliant! Ever hear of Smoot Hawley? Those that don't know history are doomed to repeat it.
Also, what are these "tax incentives" liberals keep crowing about? The libs I know even state the GW Bush personally put together this package to send jobs overseas. Pure lies and fantasy! The only tax incentive is to avoid the second highest corporate tax rates in the world right here in the USA.
Do you know who has the highest? Japan. Notice how they "shipped jobs overseas" and built plants in the US to avoid these taxes.
Lower the corporate tax rate and watch the jobs come back.
I’m sure many rank and file are asuring thier union heads that they are on board with the crazy train until they get into the voting booth. Country first
Mullah, its time for iftar.
just watched 10 mins of this fool and I swear all he has done is put down half of America.
The republicans said this and that and yet he is lying out of his mouth again.
The crowd behind him.
The black guy looks confused, behind him, well is that a she or a he which begs the question what on earth is it with Dem men and their pansy looks.
The woman to the right of the screen with her two kids just keeps nodding her head.
These people are completely delusional
Your post says it all, and should be the post of the day!
I had to turn it on for a few minutes (just the very end now), and was wondering about the befuddled people behind him myself...
What’s BO’s OCD about Slurpees??? Did you hear that part??
yep give more of our money to give them a job for a year.
yep sure sounds a ling term future for our kids.
He keeps saying we have tried their way and it failed, but he seems to ignore that during that time we fought two wars, 9/11 and still created job, the economy was great and it only went down after the rats took power.
If any cult follower still thinks this man is good for this country then wake the hell up you stupid ignorant dumb fools.
Don't know why OBummer went to Wisconsin to announce this roads program, half of freaking Wisconsin's roads are already under construction! Try driving up I-94 out of Illinois to I-43 in Wisconsin sometime and you'll see what I mean!
Our last trip up to the summer cottage took almost 8 hours (normally it's 5 1/2) because of all the damn' construction!
This is of course, yet ANOTHER union payout from Obama, and Taxpayers know it!
The little white girl has a look on her face which says,
“Why did my mamma vote for this jerk?”
My bad he is scream preaching lies in Wisconsin. At a labor rally.
Obama bashing republicans and saying they put our economy in the ditch and he is the guy to get us out of the ditch.
He used the REPUBLICANS want to REVERSE the car the DEMOCRATS want to DRIVE tired mantra of BS.
He closed the speech sounding like he was campaigning.
Yeah I heard that. He said the republicans are just standing their (LAUGHTER LAUGHTER) drinking slurpees while the democrats cleaned things up. The people in the background were applauding this crap. Go figure!
“
But there are some folks in Washington who see things differently. When it comes to just about everything we’ve done to strengthen the middle class and rebuild our economy, almost every Republican in Congress said no. Even where we usually agree, they say no. They think it’s better to score political points before an election than actually solve problems. So they said no to help for small businesses. No to middle-class tax cuts. No to unemployment insurance. No to clean energy jobs. No to making college affordable. No to reforming Wall Street. Even as we speak, these guys are saying no to cutting more taxes for small business owners. I mean, come on! Remember when our campaign slogan was Yes We Can? These guys are running on No, We Can’t, and proud of it. Really inspiring, huh?
To steal a line from our old friend, Ted Kennedy: what is it about working men and women that they find so offensive?
When we passed a bill earlier this summer to help states save the jobs of hundreds of thousands of teachers, nurses, police officers and firefighters that were about to be laid off, they said no to that, too. In fact, the Republican who’s already planning to take over as Speaker of the House dismissed them as government jobs that weren’t worth saving. Not worth saving? These are the people who teach our kids. Who keep our streets safe. Who put their lives on the line for our own. I don’t know about you, but I think those jobs are worth saving.
We made sure that bill wouldn’t add to the deficit, either. We paid for it by finally closing a ridiculous tax loophole that actually rewarded corporations for shipping jobs and profits overseas. It let them write off the taxes they pay foreign governments even when they don’t pay taxes here. How do you like that middle class families footing tax breaks for corporations that create jobs somewhere else! Even a lot of America’s biggest corporations agreed the loophole should be closed, that it wasn’t fair but the man with the plan to be Speaker is already aiming to open it up again.
Bottom line is, these guys refuse to give up on the economic philosophy they peddled for most of the last decade. You know that philosophy: you cut taxes for millionaires and billionaires; you cut rules for special interests; you cut working folks like you loose to fend for yourselves. They called it the ownership society. What it really boiled down to was: if you couldn’t find a job, or afford college, or got dropped by your insurance company you’re on your own.
Well, that philosophy didn’t work out so well for working folks. It didn’t work out so well for our country. All it did was rack up record deficits and result in the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.
I’m not bringing this up to re-litigate the past; I’m bringing it up because I don’t want to re-live the past. It would be one thing if Republicans in Washington had new ideas or policies to offer; if they said, you know, we’ve learned from our mistakes. We’ll do things differently this time. But that’s not what they’re doing. When the leader of their campaign committee was asked on national television what Republicans would do if they took over Congress, he actually said they’d follow the exact same agenda as they did before I took office. The exact same agenda.
So basically, they’re betting that between now and November, you’ll come down with a case of amnesia. They think you’ll forget what their agenda did to this country. They think you’ll just believe that they’ve changed. These are the folks whose policies helped devastate our middle class and drive our economy into a ditch. And now they’re asking you for the keys back.
Do you want to give them the keys back? Me neither. And do you know why? Because they don’t know how to drive! At a time when we’re just getting out of the ditch, they’d pop it in reverse, let the special interests ride shotgun, and hit the gas, careening right back into that ditch.
Well, I refuse to go backwards, Milwaukee. And that’s the choice America faces this fall. Do we go back to the policies of the past? Or do we move forward? I say we move forward. America always moves forward. And we are going to keep moving forward today.”
The people in the background were applauding this crap. Go figure!
Disgusting Useful Idiots.
Holy crap how did you get that off off the long legged mack daddy’s, the one we have not been waiting for,anti-Christian’s, teleprompter?
Brainwashed union mob thugs.
If he says 50 billion to rebuild all this crap, you can rest assured it will be at least 5 times that much.
