Dick Cheney wanted to invade several Middle East nations, not just Iraq, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair reveals in his new book.
Blair writes that the former Vice President had a goal to remake the power structure of several countries in that part of the world.
Cheney "would have worked through the whole lot, Iraq, Syria, Iran, dealing with all their surrogates in the course of it -- Hezbollah, Hamas, etc.," Blair wrote in his memoir, "A Journey."
The former PM told Christiane Amanpour on ABC's "This Week" that Cheney, 69, believed "the world had to be remade after September the 11th."
"Dick was always absolutely hard-line on these things," Blair said. "I mean, I think he would openly avow this."
In his book, Blair writes Cheney wanted to deliver a message to nations he felt were supporting terrorists and terror organizations.
"He was for hard, hard power," he wrote. "No ifs, no buts, no maybes. We're coming after you so change or be changed."

They should ALL have been taken out! Dik was right...AGAIN!
We do apparently need a new Muslim World order.
Yep. We got bogged down in nation building instead of eliminating bad guys first.
Dick Cheney in 2012!
The house of Saud needs on that list.
Sounds like a well thought out plan.
Maybe he had a point
Who’s that with Mickey Rourke ?
Tony Blair is just proving to the world what an idiot he is. We would have been better keeping his trap shut.
lol. That’s quite clever.
Instead, we have a crooked bell hop selling us out to a bunch of rock-worshiping monkeys.
Nice going, America.
Yeah. He should sign up with that celebrity-look-alike agency.
That would be Megrahi’s UnJailer when the terrorist
was rewarded for bringing down an airliner
with a convenient “GET OUT OF JAIL” card approved by
a coven including Scotland, BP, and Obama.
Quaddaffi looks like he just rolled in from a KISS concert.
Is it just me, or does Momar (sp) look like a Rocker coming off a Reunion Tour?
And Cheney was right. If we had kept Syria and Iran in line, there wouldn’t have been so many terrorists supported by those regimes coming in to Iraq to kill our soldiers.
Well, they did remake the Mideast. Obama didn’t learn that lesson and is still trying to play the old and anachronistic game of pre 9/11
When he captured Baghdad, Tommy Franks became a general of historical proportions because that action changed the course of history.
There is still time to take out Iran, after which Syria will disintegrate. The allies of the Gulf/Israel coalition will do the heavy lifting.
Kinda has a nice ring to it.
And Cheney was absolutely right! Too bad that Bush didn't listen to him.
Cheney would have made the best president since Reagan, bar none.
“And Cheney was right. If we had kept Syria and Iran in line, there wouldnt have been so many terrorists supported by those regimes coming in to Iraq to kill our soldiers”
Or supporting the Taliban to kill us in Afghanistan.
Quaddaffi looks like he fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.
No, it does not
that pic is creeeeepy...4 dead eyes...
Cheney Chick, here! He’s a man’s man, and that’s the appeal! He calls it as he sees it, and he has the testosterone to say it. It would be a better world if he had been president at any point in time.
In the words of Dick Cheney himself ... “SO !!!”
Miss Me Yet?
That would have led to the eternally-elusive "peace in the Middle East". What a missed opportunity.
Now it's back to the fraud of endless "peace talks" that only appease and strengthen our Muslim enemies.
God bless you and keep you safe and healthy, Richard Cheney. Americans who can reason still love you.
The wrong guy was at the top of the GOP ticket in 2000, and that should be clearly evident to anyone with a room temperature IQ.
President Dick Cheney would have kept the White House (and probably the Congress too) in GOP hands, and the Usurper from Kenya might still be a state Senator in the Land o’ Lincoln.
Yes but look at it this way. Many of the radical Muslims died for Allah in Iraq. And the young people in Iran are (relatively) liberal. It’s only a matter of time before everyone behind the ‘79 Revolution would die. Once that happens, Iran will become one of the most free and secular countries in the Middle East, almost like Turkey although they’re becoming more Islamist recently.
“The wrong guy was at the top of the GOP ticket in 2000, and that should be clearly evident to anyone with a room temperature IQ.”
Hard to say if Cheney with his health history would have been electable - the media would have pounded that message daily & put a lot of doubt in peoples’ minds
You got to wonder who stopped it.
Onme of the reasons I suported invading Iraq was the real estate dictum, “Location. Location, Location”. Figured, turn left, take out Syria, Hamas, Hezbollah. Turn right, and send all the mullahs off to meet the hidden Imam.
Cheney was right on the money.
we have a crooked bell hop selling us out to a bunch of rock-worshiping monkeys.
LOL! Good one!
and Dick Cheney was right. And that is why I respect him more than any GOP’er in the past decade or two. He should have been President and George VP.
Maybe the US could have hacked up Syria but Iran is too big and too populous.
As we saw, we went in with a small footprint in Iraq, won the war and lost the peace as things got out of control.
The post was plan was foolhardy. We paid a lot for Rumsfeld’s light footprint vision.
“We do apparently need a new Muslim World order.”
Muslims have been playing “Cowboys & Muslims” and do not realize it is an all or nothing game. Americans are just beginning to realize they are being forced to play by incessant Muslim attacks.
When America, Israel, and the West do decide to play, it will be a video game for us and the end of existence for them - as it must be.
Islam Delenda Est.
God, I love Cheney!
Cheney “would have worked through the whole lot, Iraq, Syria, Iran, dealing with all their surrogates in the course of it — Hezbollah, Hamas, etc.,”
TRUE Mid East peace talk.
That’s what I was thinking. There are a lot of people in Iran who would love to have true freedom. They are a proud and intelligent people. We need them on our side.
I always said that the Mideast was like a rotten tooth.. you have to drill out the infection, and replace it with something inert....
