How do we get to the place where we are spending billions of dollars capturing one of the most abundant compound on the planet?

The real potential problem is that some republican thinks he has some company that could use a protion of this money. That was the problem for all the Delay Hasstert etc etc republicans - they voted for their friends companies to get gov money!!

This was never about fixing a real problem, for gosh sakes! This has always been about finding nefarious ways to take money from those they don't like to be able to give it to those they do--including themselves, of course. Toward that end, it's been a raving success.

“.....The experimental technique involves storing carbon dioxide emissions from coal plants and other sources underground.....”
The Leftists are like a broken record repeating over and over again the same stupid lines. They take this “technique” from one of their oldest, and most favorite tricks of sweeping their dirt under the rug. The result will be the usual. The dirt is under the rug, and we are supposedly so stupid we don’t know the dirt is under the rug.
They are so clever.

Because they have to sequester two oxygen atoms for every carbon atom, permanently removing oxygen from the biosphere, it should more correctly be called oxygen capture.

Even the design is nuts. The carbon dioxide isn’t even going into the Stomata!

Perhaps if they were really thinking, they might make a run of CO2 fire extinguishers?

storing carbon dioxide emissions from coal plants...in an attempt to reduce pollution blamed for contributing to global warmingCO2 is NOT pollution
This is an absolute waste of money.
It is an experiment that could have unintended consequences in the future. At some point in the future, there will be some of this CO2 that makes it back out of the reservoirs. Who will be the legal fall guy?
Besides, nobody has proven man is causing climate change. Even the believers say anything man can (they say should) do will have no effect.
Why waste the money?
