A Sadly Wary Misunderstanding of Muslim-Americans." But Really Is It (No 1st Amendment for Muslims)
The New Republic ^ | September 4, 2010 | Martin Peretz

Actually, no one has shown that a single serious demonstration against Muslims and Arabs, against their beliefs and behavior can be raised in this country. And, if you think Glenn Beck's rally at the Lincoln Memorial was its equivalent please quote to me sounds of hatred directed from the platform.

There has not been a single rally or demonstration in America aimed at Muslim or Arab interests or more likely, to foreign insurgencies and, yes, quite alien philosophies. I suggest that this is largely the case because Americans are so fearful of being accused of bias.

Muslims and Arabs do not not act in America as they do in the increasingly Islamicized but non-practicing Christian Europe. Still, I wouldn't close my eyes or our eyes to the increasing number of both naturalized and native-born citizens who enlist in the Islamic terror networks of our time, here and abroad.

Liberal political theory has virtually ignored the philosophical, legal and ethical questions posed by the threatening demographics of Europe. Is not western society, imperfect as it may be but immensely more liberal than the domains of Islam, obliged to defend its future. Immigration is key to this discussion, and it's the one issue that no one wants to discuss.

Why do not Muslims raise their voices against these at once planned and random killings all over the Islamic world?

Muslim life is cheap, most notably to Muslims. And among those Muslims led by the Imam Rauf there is hardly one who has raised a fuss about the routine and random bloodshed that defines their brotherhood. So, yes, I wonder whether I need honor these people and pretend that they are worthy of the privileges of the First Amendment which I have in my gut the sense that they will abuse.

Full correct title: The New York Times Laments "A Sadly Wary Misunderstanding of Muslim-Americans." But Really Is It "Sadly Wary" Or A "Misunderstanding" At All?

I can imagine the worldwide eruption if a writer for National Review questioned First Amendment protections for Muslims. This has been out several days and I just stumbled upon it. Hadn't heard a peep.

From the article: So, yes, I wonder whether I need honor these people and pretend that they are worthy of the privileges of the First Amendment which I have in my gut the sense that they will abuse.

The time to wonder (and pretend) has long since passed. All anyone in this country has to do is open their eyes and ears and observe the results of allowing this so-called "religion" to spread in Western Civilization over the centuries. (Yes, they have had the same clearly stated goals for centuries and have not been the least bit coy about what they are.) For an up to date perspective, one only needs to see the recent and rapidly intensifying destruction of societies and civilization in Europe as a direct result of allowing this EVIL to take root (and to offer it PC (suicidal) protections as a sign of their societal "enlightenment.")

Anyone that wants to understand what has happened in Europe and is now happening here in this country should take the time to read: Lee Harris, The Suicide of Reason: Radical Islam's Threat to the Enlightenment.

From Harris: "The West can only think of fanaticism as a social pathology, a failure to modernize, rather than as what it is: a variety of social order that is not only fully viable in the modern world but also willing to use weapons to which the West is uniquely vulnerable. A governing philosophy based on reason, tolerance, and consensus cannot defend itself against a strategy of ruthless violence without being radically transformed--or destroyed."

2010, the year of the Islamic Cold War.

The grassroots of America declares a Cold war against Islam.

Political leaders are unwilling to come to the defense of the Constitution and America condemns the weak leadership with a divided loyalty.

The supporters of Islam and those that fear of the backlash work diligently and feverishly to stop internet chatter towards an organized event of Koran burning upon the anniversary of 9/11.

This is what we are right now.

As far as I can see ... anything we do is either going to start trouble or castrate us.

There is no conversation with a Muslim that could be believed because of that "It's ok to lie to an infadel" thing (I forget the word)

So negotiation(s) are out.

That leaves confrontation or roll over and expose our backside.

Your choice.

Start by realizing that Islam is not a religion but an entire system of government. Its ultimate goal is to take over and eliminate anyone who does not follow there agenda, much like the communist. All parts of a political/social/legal culture are set out in the quaran and the followers must live in that way. As such the First Amendment does not apply. We are at war with this system and should be thinking and acting with that thought. Currently it is a shooting war on far of shores and a political/intellectual war at home. We must win the war at home or loose everything we hold sacred.

Can a person with severe frostbite regain the use of a frozen finger or other body part?

It may be possible to leave it but you risk the chance of infection and losing more of your body.

This is Islam in action, it kills your soul and you cannot have any of it living with a healthy part of your body.

If you have no soul then Islam will occupy it, Islam is the choice of faiths for those that are weak.

I think confront. Like the Preacher. Muslims may be anti-american by definition. But so is Obama.

I think so too. Appeasement will only lead to defeat. But we must have energy independence and quit paying them. Thus drill here drill now. Or die.

And I fully concur on your National Review comment.

Time to get over being fearful and tell the truth, no matter whom it offends.

True. It is staggering that someone at TNR managed to pull his head far enough out of his ass to note that, in this case, the enemy of your enemy is even more your enemy.

There were no serious protests against the NAZIS either. In fact The Bund was very influential and that included Charles Lindbergh. He was supposed to make a speech at the Boston Garden on December 8, 1941, but something happened. I think the Amish had something to do with it.

Taqqiya;

Based on the story in the Hadith of one of Mohammed's followers lying to his captors about believing in Allah. After-wards, he recanted to Mohammed and Mohammed stated that lying to save ones life from Infidels is acceptable. Sunnis publicly state that they do not accept the concept of Taqqiya, but are they lying to fool the Infidels?

I was the recipient of a lot of hate when I brought up to a Muslim coworker that Christians were more honorable because they were not allowed the concept of lying to save themselves and had to become a “true” martyr if threatened.
