SEPTEMBER 8--The Florida pastor who is planning to burn a pile of Korans this weekend runs a church that has established a variety of cult-like rules for individuals studying to become ministers, according to the groups rulebook.
The Dove World Outreach Center (DWOC), headed by Islam-hating Rev. Terry Jones, has been widely denounced for its September 11 bonfire plans. The tiny Gainesville church is headed by Jones and his wife Sylvia, a co-pastor.
The DWOCs Academy Rulebook, a copy of which youll find here, was created in November 2007 by Sylvia Jones. The document, which details the standards to which a prospective DWOC minister must adhere, addresses topics such as behavior, study, and communication. It is also filled with the kind of creepy directions that are often associated with cults.
For instance, students are directed to cut off most contact with family members. Family occasions like wedding, funerals or Birthdays are no exception to this rule, the rulebook notes. No phone calls. Exceptions can be made under certain circumstances but only after receiving permission.
The Joneses also barred Singles from having romantic relationships to the opposite sex

I don’t think anyone is buying into his attempt at religion, he is getting support for doing something that millions of us want to see
Is he as creepy as Jeremiah Wright, mentor to the President of the United States for 20 years?!!
Don’t like the message, attack the messenger.
Has he published the quotes from the Imam of the Ground Zero mosque accusing the United States of terrorism?
You can do the same thing. Just go out and buy a Koran and burn it.
I ask a different question. How will burning the Koran cause ANYONE to convert to Christianity? Sure he will attract a few nutjobs to his church, but innocent Christians in turd world countries may die for this stupid and selfish stunt.
I was a part of a ‘Christian cult’ back in the 80’s that espoused the same kinds of ‘rules’ over it’s congregation. I got out of that, thankfully. It still operates up here, headquartered out of Graham, WA.
I do NOT support that kind of iron-handed rulership.
I DO support what he’s doing about the Koran.
At least I know the former is against people crashing planes into buildings.
Yah, it’s not about his religion or affiliations. It’s those of us who have had it up over our heads with being told, as Americans, that we have to appease the muslims everytime their little minds get offended. We must slap down fellow Americans and bust them of their rights. We have to put up with their insensitivity at Ground Zero. I, for one, am sick of it.
Uh oh Branch Davidian Waco madness alert. here come the tanks; calling Janet Reno 9-1-1!
He is a giant not unlike David against Goliath. I just wish it were not one single American who has committed not crime who is causing the so called, “global community” and the entire US government from the president down to the dog catcher attempting to censor and silence a single man who’s moral clarity is crystal clear. Islam is smiling.
Wallid Shoebat converted to Christianity after he read the Bible to see what the differences between Islam and Christianity were.
This act of burning Korans is sure highlighting the hatefulness of the Muslims who are threatening to kill people because of it.
The body count is higher than that.
The El Al Air shooting at LAX.
The DC Sniper duo.
The Seattle Jewish community center shooting (I believe there was at least one fatality).
The Army recruiting center shooting.
The Ft. Hood shooting.
And then we have "unsolved" cases like the anthrax attacks.
It must be time for the daily two minutes of hate in an effort to get the public in line with the Victory Mosque and Muslim domination.
Newsflash...they kill Christians anyway. They’ve never needed an excuse before and this isn’t one now.
His website’s apologia for the Westboro Baptist nuts tells me all I need to know about him.
Did Smoking Gun ever point out the links between Communist groups and the so-called “antiwar movement” in 1968 or 2005?
