PHILADELPHIA (AP) Pennsylvania's Democratic governor says that "wackos" are taking over the Republican Party in Congress.
Gov. Ed Rendell made his observation Wednesday as he introduced Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine at an event in Philadelphia to rally Democrats for the November midterm elections.
Rendell says the GOP "is a party that's slowly but surely being taken over by wackos" who are "obsessed" with President Barack Obama's American citizenship and believe the unemployed refuse to work.

All they have left is name calling and smears. WE are on the right side of history.
If by wackos he means TEA PARTY then I hope he is right on the money.
takes one to know one
I hope he is right, but surely he can’t be blind to the fact that the far left is firmly in control of the dem party.
As opposed to the nuts called “Progressive Democrats” taking over the Democrat party?
“Wackos” AKA those with a respect and appreciation for the Constitution.
We are just incipient wackos. With the perfected Liberal model of ‘Wackoramus Americanus’ before us for so long, we will catch up as soon as we can!! Be patient... it won't be long now!!!
from his perspective this is a good thing no doubt.
more guaranteed votes from people that need to be saved by his ilk.
This is the mantra & message for the public via the msm....Republicans are extremists, wackos, a bunch of Tea Partiers, etc.
The GOP had better get out there with their own message, or this will take a toll come election day.
Makes you wonder what guys like Rendell, Howard Dean, Joe The Idiot Biden, etc. would’ve called the Patriots fighting for Freedom during The Revolution.
We’re not Republicans anymore.
Wackos took over the Dim party in the late '60s and early '70s, and it's only gotten worse since.
They must be falling without parachutes for Eddie to make this comment.
Fast Eddie..... should leave Harrisburg and go back to Philly and get a full-time job b*thcing about the Eagles.
My wacko great x 7 grandfather fought with George Washington for our freedom. We need more wackos, sane liberals have ruled us for too long.
Not his citizenship. He could very well be naturalized, or could merely be a 14th amendment "citzen at birth". But those are not the requirement laid out in the Constitution, which I presume Rendall has at least heard of even if he hasn't read it. The Constitution's requirement is to be a Natural Born Citizen. That means citizen parents and born in the US or with one or both parents in the service of the nation, miltary or diplomatic, if born outside of it.
