WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama insisted Friday that the U.S. economy is digging itself out of the deepest recession in decades but conceded that "progress has been painfully slow" and many voters in November's elections may blame him.
Facing a rising jobless rate, Obama told a White House news conference: "For all the progress we've made, we're not there yet. And that means people are frustrated and why people are angry."
"Because I am president, and the Democrats have control of the House and Senate, it's understandable that people are saying, 'What have you done?'"
The president, who also is the leader of the Democratic Party, spent much of his appearance before cameras on the defensive, underscoring his frustration with being unable to convince the public that his economic fixes are working.

‘They’ may blame him as in Obama is giving permission to voters to blame him therefore taking responsibilty...I highly doubt it!
It looks like they took Obama’s words out of context as it looks like Obama meant they may blame him but........ Bush, Elmer Fudd, Sam Hill and others did it.
Obamao and his policies are failures. The harder he tries, the worse things will get. His new oaf act isn’t going to go over very well. He should lay off the crack.

A few interesting observations.
First, his advisors must be telling him the Bush bashing is actually detrimental to his cause. Folks have had enough.
But, we all know, he is a campaigner. A back seat quarterback. He must blame someone, and someone WILL get tossed under the bus.
Then he mentions that folks MAY blame him. This is as far as taking responsibiilty will go. MAY implies that they are misguided, they just don’t understand the complexities.
So what are those complexities?
Well, he starts to hint at the next victim of his “and the Democrats have control of the House and Senate”. Aha! How long before he starts to canabilize his own party? He will start with those that don’t tow his line. Watch. Those dems who are running away from him will now become fodder over the next few months.
By the end of his term, I bet there will be dems calling for his birth certificate.
Where he was once the “ONE” he will be known as “The President We Shall Not Mention”. The dems will want to conveniently forget that he ever existed, and will only trot him out for special “Bash America” occasions like they do with Carter.

Exactly, if he replaced MAY with SHOULD, it would at least signal he “gets it.” At this juncture, he continues to sound as clueless as he apparently believes the general public is.
