The pastor at the centre of the Koran-burning row has challenged a New York Imam to call off the building of a mosque at Ground Zero.Pastor Terry Jones and his colleague Pastor K A Paul read out their telephone number live on television and said the Imam has just two hours to respond.
Sky News' US correspondent Robert Nisbet, who was at the news conference, said: "This is absolutely extraordinary.
"It appear that the pastor has reconsidered his earlier deal over the New York mosque."

If the imam calls off the mosque at ground zero, the pastor in Fla will forget about the Koran burning.
So if he doesn’t, and the burning takes place, it will be the imam’s fault.
Bwahahaha!
The First Amendment: Either it’s good enough for the Imam AND the Pastor, or the Imam wants the First Amendment only for Muslims.
Break out the popcorn!
I just fail to see how this is a big deal. Why is the media going crazy become some guy is going to burn a Koran? Who ordered the media to do this?
THIS GUY IS A PR GENIUS!
I thought he was travelling up there Saturday to meet face to face?
What does handing out the number do? Just going to get flooded w/calls from every loon on the planet, i.e., prepare for busy signal.
Sounds like a gimmick.
Gee, I wonder who the President is going to side with now?????
/sarc, by the way
Obama will simply vote “present”
This guy just happened along at the right time to fulfill the state run media’s need to boost their new Islamaphobia meme.
Rauf should build his stinking mosque, and Jones should burn the stinking Koran, and anyone offended by either act should be told to act like an adult and GET OVER IT.
Getting offended by someone every once in a while is part of the cost of living in a free society. DEAL WITH IT.
Bingo...ding ding ding
So we know there is one man with some stones left in this country...............
IMHO, that's the worst possible outcome. I'd like to see both the mosque built and the Koran burnt. People need to be taught to grow a thicker skin.
I was not so enamored by this Koran burning at the start of this - but the more I thought and remembered about the assaults against our culture - I say "what the hell - burn away."
Drop The Hamosque or I'll Shoot This Dog
Rauf can TRY to build the mosque. It won’t happen.
Up until early yesterday Pastor Jones had for the most part been rational and theologically coherent in justifying his proposed Koran-burning. Yesterday and today he has jumped the shark.
Jones says Islam is of the Devil yet now he claims to have negotiated with Imams and he expresses outrage that they allegedly lied to him. Which is it?
Jones’ associate, in the video linked above, says in Jones’ presence that burning Korans is wrong. Well, either it is wrong or it is right and if it is wrong then you don’t do it for that reason. On his website Jones posted fifteen reasons for burning the Koran. What happened to those?
Two days ago I thought that Jones might have stumbled onto something interesting and useful. I marveled that he hadn’t screwed it up already. Yesterday and today Jones has made a hash of his mission.
Why not? He's got the law on his side. If he's got the money, what's to stop him?
