South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint is on former House majority leader Dick Armeys list of Republicans he could support for president in 2012.
Asked during a panel discussion Friday night on the Tea Party movement to name several leaders he would like to see challenge President Obama, he also listed Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty.
Theres no shortage of good people, said Armey, the chairman of FreedomWorks, a free-market group helping to organize this weekends Tea Party 9/12 Taxpayer March on Washington.
Armey also suggested that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is not his ideal candidate in 2012. Theres nobody from Alaska on my list, he said.

Who do ya suppose constitute this shadowy group. Is it the CFR? The Tri-Lateral Commission? Or the Illuminati?
Or is it another "them" altogether?
Those who adhere to the Globalist agenda....I’m not into all this theory stuff....but it has been entertaining for some...It is a global intention and a International agenda of leaderships in most every nation.
WHy do you think the banks are holding off loans?....You cannot form a wold governance without money reserves.... To integrate the monetary system you have to know where the money is, how much, and what the nations have. When this is known and the who has the most is determined the nations with the most will of course have the most clout....
The banks are holding off loans because, for the most part, businesses aren't seeking them.
That...and the fact that they can borrow money from the fed at close to zero interest and earn 4% buying treasuries.
Everyone knows he's not running. He's already said he's “too smart” to run, and openly offered alternative choices he'd support for 2012 (Romney, Jeb, Daniels).
Basically, all the hopes of Jim DeMint running in 2012 came from some Brody File interview where he also implied he wasn't running, but wouldn't say “So help me God if I even consider running, may the Lord crush my children with an asteroid!!!” so that obviously means he's going to run.
He's not.
Jim Demint wants to be Senate Majority Leader. He has let his friends know this, and most current Senators have been noticing this. A few news sources have already pointed-out his strategy. He has been working behind the scenes to support some Conservative Senate candidates who will vote for him in if they win election, and has even endorsed the occasional RINO over a Conservative because they are good friends, and he knows they will almost certainly vote for him too (Graham, Rossi, etc.). If the Tea Party is successful this November, DeMint will have at least 20 total votes behind him for the race for Senate Majority Leader. That, coupled with our grassroots demand to elect him following the election, should be enough.
We need DeMint as Senate Majority leader. We need him setting the agenda in the U.S. Senate and acting as the first true-blue Conservative Senate Majority leader in quite some time. He knows this, too, which is why he's been using a PAC fund to support candidates he is confident will help him form that Conservative Senate coalition, and actually have enough votes (for a change) to elect a CONSERVATIVE leader in the Senate instead of the usual squish.
Give me DeMint as Majority Leader, Cantor as Speaker, and Palin as President. Then watch the American engine churn once again!
B U M P
I think that’s true.
Palin, if she runs, is going to face strong opposition from Republican Party leadership. Old RINO’s die hard.
those that do are refused...but even so the Gov. regulations and the healthcare bill, projected expense, has been timely has it not? It has frozen businesses from expanding....they have things covered on both ends.
This is perhaps the best suggestion Dick Armey has made in years. Jim DeMint in an outstanding public servant, a true statesman — and I’m glad he’s my Senator. If he run’s for President, I’d almost have to support him (despite my affection and respect for Sarah).
Jim, however, has repeatedly said he has no interest in running for President. And frankly, I’d hate for SC AND the nation to lose him in the Senate! God knows SC hasn’t got another Senator with his salt! And DeMint is the ONLY real Conservative heir to the late, great Jesse Helms currently in the upper House in Washington.
Something to think about though!
Ah, yes. The mysterious "they". The dread Globalists...
Conspiring once again to keep the little man down.
