At least six killed in US drone strike

MIRAMSHAH: A US missile strike Sunday killed six militants in Pakistan's northwestern tribal belt near the Afghan border, officials said.

The Pakistani Taliban said Tuesday they would continue to target Pakistani security forces with suicide attacks in revenge for the US drone strikes.

“We are targeting Pakistani security forces because the government has allowed America to launch drone attacks on us,” Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman Azam Tariq told AFP by telephone.

The latest drone attack hit Newey Adda village in the Datta Khel area near Miramshah, the main town in North Waziristan tribal district, they said.

“A US drone fired two missiles. The target was a house used by militants as a compound. Six militants were killed,” a senior security official in Peshawar told AFP, on condition of anonymity.

Another intelligence official in Miramshah confirmed the attack and the death toll, while a third intelligence official said there were two “guests” among the dead - a term used for foreign militants.

The area is a renowned hub for Taliban militants and Al-Qaeda-linked rebels.

Residents said six bodies had been dug from the rubble. Some injured people were taken to an unknown location for medical treatment.

Intelligence officials said there were two Arab fighters among the dead in the latest attack, while they were seeking more information about nationalities of the other militants killed.

Last week, a total of 24 militants were killed in four US drone strikes in 24 hours in the same tribal district. – AFP

Take the honey, face the bee. Don’t cry when you stung. “Martyr” them all.

Releasing our shooters to put guns on targets on the ground is what is needed in the Pak border regions. To deal with / finally nail the HVTs of AQ along with the Hekmatyar & Haqqani networks - The drones are great and all to a point but they have become a working obstacle now for AQ/Hek/Haqi Sr. networks.

Raids with trigger pullers on the ground is the only way to create the HUMINT we need to put these HVTs in the ground. They are outside our OODA loop as is.

Interesting...

When Obama fires a drone missile, we see photos of calm villagers inspecting a destroyed home where only “militants” died.

When Bush fired a missile, children died, women died, schools and hospitals and wedding receptions were annihilated, and wild-eyed Muslim locals held up bloody clothes and body parts and shrieked for vengeance against America.

I would argue that drones are far more effective in the current Waziristan battle. The drones attack after solid intellegence of the whereabouts of the bad guys. Ground forces are not likely to be able to engage simply because by the time they got there, they would be gone.

The surprise of undetected drones is very effective and the kill rate this week alone is impressive. I am sure that there is near visible fear among the faithful who are hiding out. One minute you are there and then instantly with no warning you are dead. If you are dead it is god’s will. If god wills many killings by ghosts in the sky perhaps the jihad is not real.

Why would barry blow islamists to kingdom come? He must have something against these guys. And it has nothing to do with the defense of America. It´s likely some tribal crap.

Barry has plausible deniability for his Mooselimb religion. It is not him giving the direct orders don’tchaknow. Remember the mooselimb principle of Taqiyya ... Barry the bastard can lie to you as a n infidel and his fellow mooselimbs will applaud him for his lies.

Black Liberation trumps Communism which trumps Islam. I think.

Yeah, but some islamists somewhere are going to be po´d that muhamad ikillu is taking a dirt nap somewhere that barry might have stopped. There must be something about their islamism that barry doesn´t get along with, ie, they´re the wrong types of mohamadan.

There was an Islamic mosque in Tower One (or was it tower two?), but the mooselimb murderers incinerated it too. Many mooselimbs are murdered along with the infidels in mooselimb suicide murder bombings. Sadly, the idiot worshippers of the lesser Hindu moon goddess cum allah are okay with being considered worthy cannon fodder to support the murdewrous mullahs. Such a nice religion that Wahhabi murder cult ... and their mirror murder image in the other branch of the murder-worshipping religion. Ahh yes, Sunnis and Shiia, such strange eighth century folks don’tchaknow.

True. Though I can´t understand taking out leadership cadre. There´s more to this business than meats the eye, and it has nothing to do with soetoro fighting in American interests.

Solid HUMINT is obtained by knocking down doors / snatch and grabs - Virtually 90% of the HVTs we have taken out in both Iraq and Stan have come from HUMINT - HUMINT obtained by boots on the ground - The drone strikes have not been very effective at HVT hunting - They have been a nuisance to HVTs -

There is certainly a role (a big one) for Reapers and Predators....but if we want HVTs we need to start releasing our shooters more on the ground.... In and out before they know it with much more Intel to boot. Not to mention the Intel fallout from the hard knock is much more than with the UAV strike....Not even comparable.

Figuring out where certain people have been is one thing, finding the right sources to tell us where they’re gonna be is another. I would think this would require infiltration in some inner circles which would be really difficult!

All the more reason for the hard knock (snatch and grab raids). HUMINT on where someone might be, can work, has worked, but is often hard to come by....because people tend to change course when word spreads that so and so has gone missing.

However, raids that produce HUMINT that is real-time actionable, meaning this is likely where someone is now, is the best way to shake out an HVT. UAV strikes can't accomplish that. There is a definite role (big one) for UAV strikes....but we need to have more raids that put trigger pullers on targets (and watch the Intel fallout from that / those such Ops).
