The British surrogate mother who was carrying Osama Bin Laden's twin grandchildren has suffered a miscarriage.

Louise Pollard was ten weeks into her pregnancy when she lost the children conceived by IVF using the sperm of Bin Laden's son Omar and the eggs of his 54-year-old British wife, Zaina, who was previously known as Jane Felix-Browne. 

Miss Pollard was travelling in Syria with Mrs Bin Laden when she was attacked by two men as she walked alone from a cafe to her accommodation late at night.

There was no heart beat,' said Miss Pollard, who has previously had two babies for British childless couples.

She said she has no idea of the motivation for the attack, but says she has been recognised both in the UK and in the Middle East as the 'Western woman carrying Bin Laden children'.

Miss Pollard, who once worked as a pole dancer to fund an accountancy degree, says she will continue being a surrogate mother for other couples. She has described the role as her 'calling'. 

Yesterday Omar Bin Laden said there was no chance of a reconciliation with his wife. Asked for his reaction to Miss Pollard's miscarriage, he said he accepted it as 'destiny'.

I would not be surprised if Bin Laden arranged for the attack on this woman since he was separated from his wife and said he would not go back to her. He probably didn’t want any ties with his estranged wife.

Why do they say miscarriage if she was attacked? Wouldn’t that be more like murdered?

If it were to go to court in the USA yes there is precedent for murder charges against an assailant who causes a miscarriage.  Miscarry is more of a quasi-medical term than a legal one. 

In Syria, however, anything might be possible.

Indeed....there is SO much weirdness associated with all aspects of this story.  "Zaina" originally told media that she just met Omar casually and had no idea who he was, and only found out about his family sometime later.

The surrogate had spent time working as a pole dancer.

Omar has now apparently gone insane and is currently institutiionalized.

The surrogate wants to continue providing surrogacy services for other couples.

This whole thing keeps spinning further and further off into the Twilight Zone.

No doubt, and considering the endless stories about Neo-Nazis searching for samples of Hitler's DNA that they can preserve so that one day they might be able to clone a new Adolf, I have no doubt that it would utterly delight and electrify the 'muslim world' if such an abomination could be produced with UBL's DNA.  It would be the ultimate Al-Queda recruitment tool.

True, although the article doesn't tell us whether the injuries she suffered in the attack were permanent and were of a nature that would preclude a successful pregnancy.

Since she is quoted as saying that she wants to continue doing this, one might assume that she has been advised by doctors that she hasn't suffered any obvious and lasting damage to her reproductive system, but of course only time will tell and the proof will be in the pudding, as they say.

I would think that she might attract some particularly unsavory clients after this Bin Laden episode.....muslims who want to have their child share a womb that had been home to Bin Laden's DNA?
