They are messengers from God, heavenly beings without material bodies, spiritual envoys carrying out God's will.
They are angels. And according to Lorna Byrne, everyone has one -- a guardian angel whos always with you and will never leave you. She says they are the gatekeepers of your soul.
She knows this, she says, because all her life she's been surrounded by them and has talked to them. Her book, Angels in My Hair, recounts her lifelong experiences with angels directing her and teaching her.
Byrne's story begins with the telling of her toddler years, when the angels told her that her tiny playmate was the brother who had died before she was born.
"We actually touched while playing blocks," says the Irish-born Byrne, who is a practicing Catholic. "When I touched his, arm it sparkled, my hands went through his into mine. I was two and a half."
Whether the public believes Byrne's angel accounts is up to them. But the popularity of her book illustrates the fascination people have with these mystical beings. Her tome is an international bestseller, translated into 20 languages. Doubleday reportedly paid a six-figure advance for the U.S. publishing rights.

A very thin veil between good and evil
Does she hear and see them when she’s off her meds?
“The Koran also talks of angels, the most important being the Angel Gabriel, who Muslims believe was God’s messenger who appeared to the Prophet Muhammad and dictated their holy book.”
That wasn’t Gabriel. It was a demon pretending to be Gabriel.
This woman may indeed talk to her angels, but I’m not sure that’s a good thing.
Isn’t this basically occultism?
Yes, those aren’t “angels” that she’s talking to...
at least not now they aren’t.
They might have been at one time.
I beleive Muhammad lied pure and simple. Neither demon or angel ever visited the man...jmo
Does she see dead people also???
Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and
the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize.
Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen,
and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions.
Perhaps, but Islam is a demonic faith, so I can see why the army of darkness would want them around.
Maybe they’re trying to tell her to do something about those tangles.
There are times when we could all use a little help.
My son said he saw “his angel” before he almost fell into a huge snowbank. This happened when he was five years old. The angel was a male, sitting on our roof watching Mike as he played in over four feet of snow. I still get goosebumps when I think about it.
Muhammad was aided by the works of Bahira - a Nestorian Christian monk, the Meccan Jews and the Quraishi tribals - to cook up the Quran.
The three sources explain the Quran’s similarities with the Bible and Torah, as well as the practices of the Quraish.
If so, then the Bible was written by occultists. Everyone and his brother talked to angels in the Old Testament. And I guess Mary Magdalene was also into the occult, since she spoke to an angel at Jesus' tomb.
“If so, then the Bible was written by occultists.”
Did you ever read in the Bible that the devil can appear as an “angel of light”?
My wife (and others) saw them and felt them watching over my daughter in the burn ward.
As you point out, not all angels are good angels. She should take care.
My question for this woman is not whether or not she is experiencing auditory hallucinations, but what is causing them and are her voices sentient.
From Jaynes Bicameral Mind...
It has recently [this was back in 1990 in the afterward to Bicameral Mind] been discovered that congenital quadriplegics who have never in their lives spoken or moved, and are oftern regarded as "vegetables," not only understand language perfectly but also hear voices they regard as God.
Source cited by Jaynes is 'John Hamilton, "Auditory Hallucinations in Nonverbal Quadriplegics," Psychiatry, 1985, 48:382-392.'
That still doesn't answer my question. How do we know the prophets who wrote the Bible, and Mary Magdalene as well, were not speaking with the devil in angel's clothing? I'm just pointing out how absurd it is to say that Mohammed's angel was surely a devil, but the Jews' and the Christians' angels were the real thing.
Are you saying it was the devil who appeared before the shepherds; that it was the devil who warned Joseph and Mary about King Herod, that it was the devil who appeared before Mary telling her she will have a baby called Jesus, etc....
The Bible talks about angels, but if you believe in them or ‘see’ one then you are a cultist or devil worshiper ?
How much sense does that make?
“I’m just pointing out how absurd it is to say that Mohammed’s angel was surely a devil, but the Jews’ and the Christians’ angels were the real thing.”
According to St. Paul, who is a primary source of Christian doctrine, any spiritual being who brings a message of salvation different in kind from the one Paul preached is an entity intent on deception and therefore evil.
The message of salvation that the muslim “angel” brought is far different that what Paul taught.
It depends if the angels are acting on God’s orders or they are in fact disguised demonic angels.
From the little I read in the excerpt it doesn’t sound like she conjures them up, she sees them around her. If she was using a ouija board or doing something to bring them to her, that would definitely be occultism. But if she’s seen angels all her life and she’s done nothing to make them appear, and can just see them, then it doesn’t appear to be her dabbling in the occult.
“That still doesn’t answer my question. How do we know the prophets who wrote the Bible, and Mary Magdalene as well, were not speaking with the devil in angel’s clothing? Jesus said you will know a true by its’ fruit...Mohammad’s “holy” book teaches killing the unbelievers. Christ’s new testament teaches to love your enemy.
Mohammed said that lying to infidels is aceptable. Jesus taught that Satan is the father of all lies....
Mohammed took part in wars, killing, taking of booty. Jesus did not.
Why would a “good” angel really appear to such an evil man?
Proof's in the pudding.
Just because a person declares himself a prophet doesn't make it so. He has to prove it by his prophecies (they must ALL come true) and he has to prove it by being true to God's word and the word of the Prophets who came before him.
It’s easy, you listen to what the ‘angel’ says and put it up against the Word of God. A demonic angel is not going to say anything against the Word of God.
“The Bible talks about angels, but if you believe in them or see one then you are a cultist or devil worshiper ?
How much sense does that make?”
From my post 25: According to St. Paul, who is a primary source of Christian doctrine, any spiritual being who brings a message of salvation different in kind from the one Paul preached is an entity intent on deception and therefore evil.
The message of salvation that the muslim angel brought is far different that what Paul taught.
What is the purpose of God sending angels to us?
It certainly not for the reasons she writes about.
“Byrne’s story begins with the telling of her toddler years, when the angels told her that her tiny playmate was the brother who had died before she was born. “
I’m sorry this is not the work of the Lord!
Byrnes story begins with the telling of her toddler years, when the angels told her that her tiny playmate was the brother who had died before she was born.
That sounds like necromancy. She’s in contact with a familiar spirit which undoubtedly knows certain facts about her deceased brother.
My sister came into contact with a medium who told her she had contacted the spirit of an uncle who had died 30 years earlier. She was certain it was the case as the medium told her specific details of this uncle’s life she could have never known.
It’s very real and very dangerous, the Bible explicitly warns of contacting mediums and familiar spirits. Saul made this mistake by contacting the Witch of Endor and attempting to summon the spirit of the dead prophet Samuel. It cost Saul greatly.
That’s beautiful, Rose.
The fellow in the article who ruled out #4 pre-emptively, saying it's as likely as talking with Santa Claus, manifests an anti-scientific prejudice.
He ought to have said that there are tests one could devise which, while not proving #4, could go a along way toward disproving #1, #2, and #3. If her brain does not show the physiological characteristics or measurable abnormal activity associated with hallucination; if the entity she's in contact with worships Jesus Christ our Lord and teaches nothing contrary to faith or morals; and if she has a reputation for truthfulness and passes a polygraph: as I said, it doesn't prove, but it vastly increases the probability of #4.
hey Rosie! thanks for the suggestion. miss your blogging on the former site, but check in frequently on your new site and the old one.
There are studies in which a subject has a magnetic field stimulated on the side of the brain (right side, IIRC) just above the right ear. The subject ‘feels the presence of beings around them, though the pre4sences are not visual.
Thank you Rose
There are all kinds of ways to induce paranormal experiences, including fasting, sleep-deprivation, electrical brain stimulation, and of course drugs. (The stories I could tell about weird intricate bizarre --- stuff--- when I was getting off of Ambien!)
But these things are all subject to clinical diagnosis. If they can be eliminated, one can really narrow down the field.
Some say that it is.
I guess I’m more interested in what Jesus would say.
So I’ll seek His guidance.
Fans wing way to book launch

Theyre the hottest tickets in town but theyre not for Jedward or U2 theyre tickets for the launch of a new book by angel writer Lorna Byrne.
Thank you for the beautiful story...
In Matthew 18:10 Jesus makes it quite clear that children have an angel, and each child’s angel has a special place in the kingdom of God:
“Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always BEHOLD THE FACE of my Father which is in heaven.”
de nada, and BTW, i haven’t visited “Sammy” in a long time. have to see what he’s up to. maybe he’s ready to release the tape. lol
I remember reading, that when Joan of Arc was interrogated, they asked ehr a significant question about her encounters with the angels: they asked ehr if she ahd put her arms around their shoulders or waists upon embracing them in love.
If she had embraced them around the shoulders, it would have been as a lover and therefore the ‘angels,’ would have been demonic. If around the waist, it would have been as a friend and therefore non-demonic.
She said that she had embraced them around the waist.
(And yes...GASP... I've seen Angels).
Your Son saw them and to heck with the skeptics out there.
You may want to give his site a look see.
He had something new up as of yesterday, the 12th.
I knew Korir before he fell from grace, so I really don’t know.
I am happy you have the gift of seeing an angel.
They are real, they are spoken of throughout the Bible.
Some see and some do not.
It just puzzles me a whole lot how some find it so hard to believe God has any limitations.
