Audit Notes: D’Souza and Forbes Edition (We've hit a nerve!! FReep mention)
columbia journalism review ^ | 9/13/2010 | ryan chittum

But because it was in Forbes, an “MSM” publication, this piece of garbage will be seized on and pointed to as fact for years to come by cynical folks who know better, like Newt Gingrich, and by those who don’t, like Free Republic commenters or your relatives (you know the ones) who pass on those slap-me-stupid email forwards.

Ha Ha, I posted the D'Souza article last Thursday and knew it would take off when it got wide enough distribution. It seems the intellectual 'elites' over at Columbia are also in full damage control mode for the distinguished alumni Barry.

'Piece of Garbage' and insinuating we at Free Republic 'don't know better', and who have been distributing D'Souza's article far and wide. ABC, CNN, Politico, Morning Joe, etc have all come out today to protect their messiah. The 'sheeple' be damned, those of us in flyover country are just dumb, bitter clingers. Come Nov. 2, I pray those of us in flyover country send these ivory tower libs a loud and clear message.

You could pick 5 random freepers to debate the entire Columbia Journalism school on politics past or present, and it wouldn’t even be a contest.

‘This will happen no matter how much we (left, right, and center) criticize it, debunk it, and generally obliterate it with facts and reality.’

I forgot to post the last line, which is what really got me. The White House using the same Alinsky tactics they used in the birther crisis to discredit anyone who questions them. The sycophants (left, center, and right) in the MSM are the useful idiots the White House relies on to protect the usurper in chief

The article is totally insighful and incisive (as well as true). Brilliant! It is a “tar baby” they will never get unstuck from. That’s why they hate it so much.

I haven’t read the article yet, but man, that clip you posted could be a dictionary-entry example of a “snit”!

Well, to be fair... we did have fun with the Slap Hillary website that came out many years ago.

I read a number of the comments on the piece. It would appear the WH press corps was chiming in to defend the POTUS.

D’Souza nailed 0bama.

So read the article.

I'm trying to think of what kind of person would write and send such a post.

I'd let you know, but don't wanna get banned.

Since the putz at the Columbia Journalism Review gave us a shout out, I thought it only fair to return the favor and expose my fellow FReepers to what passes for ‘Journalism Review’ at Columbia. The fact the author is so pissed off is a sign it touched a nerve. The fact Morning Joe led with it in their second hour and never mentioned D’Souza wrote the article while they trashed Newt for being what they are now calling this a new form of ‘birtherism’.

Had to invest in a Popstir stovetop popcorn popper! Much better than microwave or hot air. What volume!

It’s become a staple food in our household; we have prime ringside seats for watching liberalism implode.

Plus, popcorn’s cheap.

It's fascinating stuff. That bit you excerpted is indicative of the whole article, which has this tone of "Look at the little people who can't see what's so OBvious!"

This will happen no matter how much we (left, right, and center) criticize it, debunk it, and generally obliterate it with facts and reality.

It's like they're trying to talk over any opposition by TELLING people what their opinion should be--pre-digesting the article for them.

Good job!

How else to explain Obummer’s first act as president was to return a bust of Churchill that Britain had loaned the White House. . . not to mention a string of fumblings with the UK?

I’m not sure where it’s written in the journalism rulebook that opinion pieces aren’t journalism.

jour·nal·ism   /ˈdʒɜrnlˌɪzəm/ Show Spelled[jur-nl-iz-uhm] –noun

1. the profession or practice of reporting about, photographing, or editing news stories for one of the mass media

2. newspapers and magazines collectively; the press

3. the material published in a newspaper, magazine, etc: this is badly written journalism

4. news reports presented factually without analysis

‘facts and reality’ to left wingers are opinions to most of the rest of us. These guys are getting more hysterical by the moment which means we are making em sweat at the White House. There are not enough sycophants in the entire media universe to keep the people from thinking on their own. The only thing we need to do is get the stories out. Forbes is taking a brave stand by putting D’Souza’s article as their COVER story in the Sept 27th issue. Once the hard copy hits the stands, I am buying a copy in hopes of seeing D’Souza one day so he can autograph it for me.
