Chase Online Banking Down Since Monday

The outage was due to "technical problems," said Chase spokesman Tom Kelly, who added that the problem was "not related to hackers or fraud."

Kelly said the company was "working to fix the problem as soon as possible."

"Rather then give a prediction about when it will be fixed, we're just going to tell people when it goes back up," Kelly said about 6:00pm ET. "But we are talking hours not days."

"not related to hackers or fraud."

Then it must be incompetence. I'm relieved.

I have two Chase credit cards as a result of Chase buying Bank One. However, since I do not have a Chase banking account, I am unable to pay on-line or by phone. A phone payment costs an extra $10.00.

I had just started a thread on this topic, but it was quickly locked... odd.

I wonder what's so controversial about discussing today's temporary failure of online (and retail) banking outages???

Weird. Someone else posted that BofA is also down. The dollar fell off a cliff today (US Dollar Index). Gold and Silver also shot up like the second stage of a rocket.

I tried to get my banking info over the phone today and couldn’t, Chase has usually been reliable.

Duplicate threads is my guess. This one has an official explanation from Chase, at least.

That would be three CIO's... Chase, Bank of America and the Social Security Administration. Those are the three today I'm aware of.

I think the Admin has an Uncle-in-Law who is a branch Manager of Chase.

But I am kidding. A lot. Really!

I’ve had no problem today with BofA online banking. Just used a few minutes in addition to several other times today.

Just because their website is down, I’ll bet you still have to pay late charges...

I wonder, is it just their website that is down or are all their internet based services affected? Bill pay, Direct Deposits, ATM/Debit card services.

The article makes it sound like just the website access is down.

They have free checking accounts. Might as well set one up.

I’ve had no problem today with BofA online banking.

It's BofA's debit cards at retail outlets... and Chase's online banking system.

Won’t be long before a full day passes.

FWIW, the branches are also feeling the outage but can still provide the services not available online.

I decided against trying to get any info by 'phone. With the web down for so long the 'phones are probably overloaded.

Very strange that it is taking this long to fix.

Q. How can you tell if a Chase representative is lying?

A. their lips move.

Chase cannot be trusted under any conditions. If you can, I strongly recommend you transfer your business to a local bank and never look back.

I became a Chase customer when they picked up Washington Mutual. Their website has always been slow and clunky.
