Tuesdays primary results, including the shocker victory in Delawares Republican Senate primary by conservative Christine ODonnell over the GOPs anointed pick, Rep. Michael Castle an anti-gun moderate that many believe is a Republican In Name Only (RINO) have the so-called experts in fits.
Whats this got to do with Washington State? Hang on, well get to that.
One will hear much about conventional wisdom over the next several days, an indication that conventional may translate to parochial elitism, and theres not much wisdom in that. To wit: Following ODonnells smashing victory Tuesday, the Washington Post quoted a GOP strategist named Mike Murphy and a former GOP congressman-turned-lobbyist Vin Weber. Murphy thinks the ODonnell win is straight out of Harry Reids dream journal. Weber believes it may well cost us the Delaware Senate seat.

The conventional wisdom was that Castle could win in Delaware, and help tilt the Senate to the Republicans. Yet the Seattle Times is reporting that the National Republican Congressional Committee hasnt reserved any television ad time in the Seattle market, while the Democrats have already reserved $1 million of ad time.

We all know why he is RNC chairman. We knew then, deep down, it was the wrong reason. Time to correct that mistake.
It’s positively amazing how the Republican Party In Name Only is so allergic to conservatism. It is so fearful of being cast as the party of racism, bigotry, and xenophobia that it would rather twist its panties into a wad over 10% of the Hispanic vote, than acknowledge the reality of where the people of the U.S. really stand. It’s all they care about. At least with a Democrat you know what you are getting. But Republicans are the devil incarnate with their toxic combination of big business interests, political correctness, closeted fealty to liberalism and links to the MSM and NAFTA/GATT. The entire U.S. Congress needs to be run out of town on a rail and we need to start over with citizen legislators who get four years to govern then they get to go back home. No 50-year legislative dynasties!
I suspect that candidate O’Donnell’s raising over a million dollars in campaign funds in about 24 hours is opening some Republican eyeballs, some in abject fear, and some with enlightenment.
