Biden to Delaware for Coons

Vice President Joe Biden will head to Delaware sometime next week to campaign for the Democrat hoping to fill his former Senate seat.

According to CNN, Biden will stump on behalf of New Castle County Executive Chris Coons, who faces Tea Party-backed Christine O'Donnell in November.

It comes as no surprise that Biden will campaign for Coons, and Republican strategists say they expect to see him in the state more than once ahead of November. But the fact that Biden is being deployed so quickly suggests Democrats are anxious to cut off any momentum that may be building for O'Donnell, who has gotten significant national attention since her primary victory Tuesday.

Its a very different political scene now, Biden is long associated with Obama, Obama is bad news, Christine was an unknown with very little money, the Tea Party did not exist, and there is a tidal wave of anger now against insiders and statists, and if you are an insider statist like Biden, its a double whammy.

In this light, Biden may very well hurt Coons, Obama definitely would.

Good question and I don't know but I'd guess she was underfunded at best. So in this round she'll have the funding to get her message out.

Sure worked for Scott Brown last January. POTUS dragged TOTUS up to Northeastern U for an electrifying appearance on behalf of Marcia Coakley. Didn't help Boston traffic.
