Is the Republican establishment losing it?
Is the party leadership capable of uniting a governing coalition as Richard Nixon did before Watergate and Ronald Reagan resurrected in the 1980s?
Observing the hysteria and nastiness of Karl Rove and the GOP establishment at the stunning triumph of Tea Party Princess Christine ODonnell, the answer is no.
This party is not ready to rule.

The U.S. Government - Little people from the unwashed masses need not apply.
It’ll be interesting to see what the next Rassmussen poll says, given that it gave Coons an 11 point lead right after the primary. They call it “solidly Democrat” at this point.
another pile of crap
Tells you all you need to know about what side Patsy is on. Americans don't need "rulers." Only a fascist statist a-hole talks about "ruling" Americans.
Buchanan, meet your soulmates, the Clintonoids and Obamanoids. You'll feel right at home there, you chickenshit anti-American drunk.
Losing it? Regrouping and cleaning house. IMHO
"We should be learning that for all of this nation's nattering on about race and gender, the most powerful prejudice is one of class. The betters know who they are (on both sides of the aisle), and are willing to champion some of their lessers' causes, but are resistant when one of them seeks a place at the table, and embarrassed if they elbow their way in anyway.
They will say it's about competence, but you know how that goes with the elites. They can bumble on about visiting all 57 states or yammer on about FDR going on the telly to address the nation and after a few yucks all is forgotten. Misstatements are only disqualifiers for the second tier people.
They will say it's about ethical baggage, but you know how that goes with the elites. Hillary's cattle futures, Barack's sweet real estate exchanges, Cholly's apartments, Geitner's tax "problems" - none of that ultimately matters for the ruling class. Only for the little people are such obstacles insurmountable.
We saw it with Sarah, and now we're seeing it with several candidates who have dared to rise up from among the great unwashed.
You go, O'Donnell. It's clear you're not one of them. That makes you one of us.
The thing that has bothered me about the Republicians for the last 20 years or so was that they were poor copies of the Dems. Bush would not close the border, ran deficits, etc. One wonders if they will ever shape up?
if people like Rove just shut the hell up and stop having baby hissy fits then she would have an easier run in.
People like Rove are still giving talking points to the biased media and the far left fanatics
I had a couple of quibbles, but it was indeed a delicious read.
Christine has the Obama disapproves
Coons has the Obama approves
I guess Obama was popular in Delaware on Wednesday, but unpopular on Saturday and Sunday.
Different pollsters, I know.
Reread the article. He is talking about the establishment. Not us.
You hit the nail on the head with that post. Right On.
It's ready to rule. It just needs new leaders.
Democrats were in the 20 year period as well...
He nailed it. Buchanan is right on in this piece and he gets it. It is stunning to see the damage these people have done to our nation. One thing about it, they are coming out in droves now. Their hatred and contempt is on full display for all Americans to see.
