A scientist and his wife who used to work at a high-level U.S. energy laboratory were arrested Friday after an FBI sting operation and indicted on charges of conspiring to help develop a nuclear weapon for Venezuela.
After their arrest, the two appeared in federal court in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
They dealt with an FBI undercover agent posing as a Venezuelan agent. The government did not allege that Venezuela or anyone working for it sought U.S. secrets.

Get two ropes...
Perps accused are Pedro Leonardo Mascheroni, 75, a naturalized U.S. citizen from Argentina, and Marjorie Roxby Mascheroni, 67, a U.S. citizen. Both were formerly contract employees at Los Alamos. He was laid off in 1988 and sued the lab for discrimination in 1994. In recent years he repeatedly made waves with Congress over lab management and reliability of nuclear weapons.
Sounds like a flake, smart but with a few loose screws and a cold-war like scheme to sell secrets.
“The government did not allege that Venezuela or anyone working for it sought U.S. secrets.”
I smell BS (friend of Obama)
What better way to spend that oil money.

Why all the secrecy? Obama is happy to give Hugo any US classified info he needs. Its part of the “soft diplomacy” ya hear so much about.
“Mascheroni, 75, a naturalized U.S. citizen from Argentina”
Why? Just WHY can’t we use our OWN people. (and yes I know we used Germans for the original)
Chavez buys the material from Iran, and builds The Bomb. He sells it to terrorists, who set it off in DC, killing everything Inside the Beltway
All the professional lobbyists, lifetime staffers, hundreds of thousands of lawyers and feds at the trough, career Congressmen and Senators and assorted power-crazed thieves and mass murderers. Hundreds of tax supported committees, agencies, departments, think tanks, union headquarters and mobbed up staffs, opinionated talking heads, "journalists". Across the country, all those fed slaves on Eternal Hold, waiting for word from Big Brother.
All gone in a flash, forcing us to rebuild, according to the Constitution, with honest people.
I'm trying to find a downside, here. I'd miss the Smithsonian...

WHO’D A THUNK IT!

Sounds like a leftist flake trying to help another leftist flake (Obama’s buddy Hugo).
No, we didn’t use Germans for the original, we used American Scientists. We used Captured German scientists for our rocket and missle programs after the war but during the war relied on our own people. Even then there was at least one traitor selling our nuke secrets.
I stand corrected. For some reason, I thought Oppenheimer was a foreigner.
Eric Serna, another corrupt Dem politican. Forced to resign as insurance commissioner because of charge of corruption:
Former New Mexico Insurance Superintendent, Eric Serna, got forced to resign after years of allegedly shaking down those that came under his authority:
Serna indicated to Madison that he favored "good corporate citizens" making contributions to legitimate charitable organizations. Ruiz said Serna sometimes "looked the other way" on fines when insurance companies agreed to make contributions to favored charities. Ruiz said Serna would choose Con Alma and $35,000 would be sufficient.
At first glance, some might argue that he is just trying to help out some needy charities. Of course we later learned that Serna used at least one of those charities as his own personal slush fund.
