September 18, 2010 (HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill.) (WLS) -- Thousands of conservatives and Tea Party supporters gathered for a rally in the suburbs Saturday.

The Sears Center in Hoffman Estates was host to "Right Nation 2010." The headline speaker was cable news commentator Glenn Beck.

Also on the speakers list was Republican nominee for Illinois governor and State Sen. Bill Brady.

There had originally been reports that Brady would skip the event. Republican Senate candidate Mark Kirk was not attending.

Saturday's gathering comes just days after Tea Party-supported candidates won primary elections in several states. Approximately 5,500 people purchased tickets for Saturday's event, with prices ranging from $67 to $1,200. Many said they attended as a prelude to the November elections.

Conservatives, libertarians, and Tea Party independents arrived at Saturday's rally by the thousands, all passionate supporters of talk show host Glenn Beck.

"I believe what he says, and he says what he believes. I'm a big fan of his. The country is going in the wrong direction, in my opinion," said Cal Starr, Right Nation 2010 attendee.

Beck's keynote address Saturday comes fresh off his rally in Washington last month.

Republican Gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady's appearance was criticized Saturday by his Democratic opponent, Gov. Pat Quinn.

"I'm not a big fan of Glenn Beck. I believe in folks who put people together, and I think that's what I've done as governor of Illinois," Quinn said.

Although Republican Senate candidate Mark Kirk did not attend, Libertarian opponent Mike Labno did.

"He's not a conservative. He's not a Republican. He's not a Libertarian. He's none of those, and that's what this event is bringing in, is that type of a crowd. Why should he be here?" Labno said.

Mike Labno is the real conservative in this race. Mark Kirk claims he is an independent and continues to snub the Tea Party. Isn't it time to put him away? Labno is a real working man, a Pro-Life Conservative libertarian. There are three liberals in the race and one conservative. Let's not pass up this fight. They are sabotaging our candidates lets show them some pay back and win.

Yes actually Brady the conservative is doing better against Quinn than Kirk against Giannopolis. Right now Illinois has shifted. Labno is the real deal. I’ve been paying attention to him for some time.
He is a credible hard working candidate. He will be getting some major endorsements soon. There are 3 libs and one conservative libertarian running. Labno is the best man for the job. He is a construction foreman, a musician, and more importantly a tea party member.

Mike Labno is impressive. Think the Tea Party Express would endorse him?

Kirk is even more liberal than Castle, & that's saying something.

Shouldn’t someone know why Kirk didn’t attend before ‘putting him away’?

The real conservative?

It sounds as if his only solution to illegal immigration is to shut down government entitlement programs so people can’t complain that the illegals are costing us money.

That is the classic ‘Libertarian Party’ position—and he’s running on the LP ticket. A vote for him would truly be a vote for the Democrat, who is Obama’s hand-picked guy.

My deepest sympathies. I hope Beck produces more.

I would LOVE to see a Libertarian conservative endorsed by the Tea Party outpoll a RINO.

That would be a GOP wake-up call.

My congressional candidate is from Chicago originally. As I understand it, his son is a crime writer for one of the Chicago papers.

Kirk ally rips Giannoulias vote ploy

WASHINGTON -- Alexi Giannoulias' Democratic Illinois Senate campaign is talking up a marginal Senate candidate -- Libertarian Mike Labno -- to try to drain conservative votes from his Republican rival, Mark Kirk.

Sure....but let’s be honest. Kirk is a liberal who hasn’t gone out of his way to endorse conservatives in his race. It isn’t likely he’d choose to attend.

Amusing footnote. Brady is the conservative (he for governor, Kirk is Senate) and Brady is polling better against his Democrat counterpart.

I moved out of C(r)ook county in April of '92, I live in Will County now. Still Illinois, but at least I got out from under the C(r)ook county board regime and the Daley influence.

People on this forum would be quite surprised to learn how CONSERVATIVE the collar counties around C(r)ook and Chicago propler are.

I could’ve ridden a horse to the Sears Center. I might’ve passed a few Democrats, but they’d all working lawn maintenance, if you know what I mean.

The point is to defeat Mark Kirk, who is more dangerous and treacherous than the Democrat.

I think that’s idiotic, but if that’s what you want to do you might as well just vote for the Dem.
