Harriet Tubman was obviously an outspoken activist in abolitionism as well as postwar civil rights. She also actively campaigned for women’s suffrage . But she lived in NY for the bulk of the early, radical socialist labor movement and never involved herself in any of it. She was a devout AME Christian, and the openly anti-Christian nature of the movement likely disgusted her.

That's VERY interesting.
