If Newt wants to help his country now, he should ask Sarah Palin what he can do to help her get elected in 2012.
I think his biggest sin was abandoning pro-growth Reaganomics in favor of a new phony balanced budget paradigm. The Democrats have been riding on that one ever since, until, thankfully, about a year ago.
Even now, the Contract with America, a poll-driven election strategy that ran scared from "trickle down" and was supposedly just for the first hundred days, is embraced by Repub establishment types like Boehner.
With some luck the Tea Party will destroy Gingrichism.
