House Democrats Pass Bill to Grill School Children about Sexual Preference
Human Events ^ | Monday, September 20, 2010 | Connie Hair

Posted on 09/20/2010 6:45:30 AM PDT by kristinn

At the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee hearing last Thursday, Democrats passed a bill to require federal health officials to question anyone seeking services from Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) community health centers or other programs about their sexual orientation and “gender identity.”

Introduced by Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.), H.R. 6109 requires HHS to obtain, retain and analyze sexual identity information from patients who seek healthcare, including children.

“This bill is about collecting data, no more, no less,” Baldwin said.

According to Baldwin, the current “lack of cultural competency” among federal officials means that “we are left with gaping holes in our knowledge on LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered) policy” resulting in “significant health disparities.”

Baldwin is the first openly-declared lesbian elected to Congress.

The new bill’s requirements would apply to all HHS health service programs, requiring the health service employees to ask everyone receiving services their sexual orientation and gender identity -- including those that focus on children at school-based health centers. Children who seek help at government-funded school health clinics would be asked whether or not they are gay, lesbian, bisexual or if they know their gender identity.

So when a six year old scrapes his or her knee, goes to the school nurse, and is cross examined about sexuality, how is the kid going to fight back?

Gimme a break.

I didn’t mention religion.

But I’d to know how a six year old with a scraped knee is going to foil the school nurse’s cross exmination about his or her sexuality? Or not be tainted by the questions?

Six year olds or grade school or even high school kids should not have to even hear such repulsive questions nor be forced to answer them. Or go to school where other kids are drilled about their sexuality.

Two of you, cute.

Being rude come with homeschooling, or is it just the few playing here? The few I have known never struck me as elitists.

Just note again, I never trashed anyones choices. I simply said "Parents need to empower their children.." and a tiny pile on began.

If you can disagree with that, we are worlds apart in what it takes to raise heathly children

Well....You haven't stated what is not true.

Is it true or not true that government schooling is socialist-funded and that the taxes are collected under the threat of armed police action?

Is it true or not true that government schools are godless?

Is it true or not true that government schools are compulsory ( that means the threat of armed police force.)

Is it true or not true that government schools are price-fixed monopoly cartels?

Is it true or not true that government schools are a government owned and run social service?

So...It is true or not that it is evil for any teacher ( Marxist, conservative, Christian) to cooperate with teaching children to be comfortable with the above and take a paycheck for doing it?

You clearly feel strongly about this and clearly I disagree.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Specifically, with what statement do you disagree?

That government schools are socialist?

That government schools are compulsory?

That government schools are price-fixed monopoly cartels?

That government schools are government owned and run?

That government schools are godless?

That it is evil for a teacher to teach children to be comfortable with the above?

Exactly, with what point do you disagree?

Because it won't happen. Being parinoid doesn't make it so.

How do you know it won't happen? That's what the law the Dems just signed says will happen. No one thought that Kevin Jennings, the NAMBLA admirer and homosexual activist and founder of GLSEN (GayLesbianStraightEducationNetwork or whatever it's called) would be hired to be the Safe School Czar either. BTW I've read enough articles about what goes on in most schools to laugh at your "paranoid" label. Being paranoid means being afraid of something imaginary. It is no imagination that schools are leftist pits of depravity.

But if your six year old knows how to even answer a question like that, you've lost.

So what will a six year old do when asked questions about his or her sexuality and no mother or father is there to protect him? No six year old should even hear such disgusting questions.

If you can't counter a loud mouth idiot, again you lost.

What loud mouth idiot are you referring to? At this point, the only one around is your good self... Oh, you mean the six year old child is supposed to rebel against the school nurse; I see.

( I would storm the school).

You and what army?

Kids are always bringing home stuff,

After they've read it, seen the pictures, and checked out the gay porn website. And you think every incriminating bit of lefitst disgusting propaganda is sent home to parents? How naive you are.

...how you handle it is what matters and what they should most influence by.

Your sentence construction is unclear. but you did not refute my argument that kids are in schools away from parents and family for more than 40 hours a week. There is no way a few hours at home can undo what's been done in schools. Or what metmom said, parents cannot influence what goes on, or even know. How can a parent know what goes on for 8 hours a day when they're not there to see? Leftist schools and teachers regularly lie to parents anyway.

It’s irresponsible for parents to send their children out to do the job THEY should be doing.

There’s no way to empower a six year old in the face of an authority figure they are told to respect and obey.

Children need to be children and not mini adults too soon. You’ll destroy their childhood.

Pulling your kids out of the public schools and starving the beast is the only way to deal with it. The only thing schools listen to is money. Cut the funding by not enrolling your kids and someone will finally sit up and take notice. If they won’t even fix the system for that, it deserves to die.

Parents have kept their kids in schools for decades under the delusion that by doing so they’ll be making a positive difference and help fix things.

That’s worked out real well so far, hasn’t it?

Besides, what I find most telling is your total silence in condemning this measure. All you’ve done is defend the public school system and attack homeschoolers. Is this your idea of how to fix the public schools system? *Empower* your kids to fight back after you’ve allowed garbage like this to get pushed through Congress?

A very telling comment.

RINO’s just can’t help but slip.

Besides, I still have yet to see fml condemn the measure. Her solution is just to do damage control once the kids have had to deal with it.

That’s real effective in *fixing* the system.

Kids across the country would do better if the entire education system were abolished. They wouldn’t be any less educated than they are now and they wouldn’t be being indoctrinated eight hours a day, five days a week for the parents to undo in the few hours they spend at home.

Lets just understand you all can complain from the outside looking in to your hearts content.

I think that the federal government should get out of the education business. It should be handed back to states and from there counties. That way the locals and parents control their schools. There’s a lot of rollback from DC that should be going on.

My first post:

I am not against homeschooling. That said I also think to run is to give in. Parents need to empower their children to say no, walk out Al Gore movies, leave blanks where necessay on questionairs, decline sex-ed etc... When the majority fail to participate the experiment will fail

Followed up because someone had trouble understanding:

I expect parents to remove children from the situation. Been there, done that. By example they will learn and have the strength to do it too.

If you find anything in those two posts somehow defending the law you're nuts. I worked within the system on a personal level how it effected my children with the aid of like minds. I attacked nobody and only questioned how leaving will cause any solutions on the personal level with the system

And yes, I doubt this will pass also posted earlier.

To fix it the government schools they would need to become completely private.

The very definition of government school **is** socialist-funded, compulsory, government owned and run, price-fixed monopoly cartel, and godless.

If they were to “fix” all that then they would need to become non-socialist, non-compulsory, non-government owned and run, not a price-fixed monopoly cartel, and God-centered. That **is** the definition of a **private** school!

This is certainly an improvement. But...Even if government school districts were the size of a suburban subdivision or the size of a city block they still have all the problems of government schooling.

It would still be socialist-funded, compulsory, government owned and run, a price-fixed monopoly cartel, and godless.

Also...Government schools ( even if the districts with the size of a city block) are in complete conflict with First Amendment Rights ( both federal and state). Once in a compulsory attendance godless government school the child's speech, press, association, and free practice of religion would be strictly curtailed by the government.

I, and millions others try to fix the system from within.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

You have not offered any explanation for how to reform the following:

Socialist-funded
Godless
Compulsory
Government owned and run
Government price-fixed monopoly cartel

The above **is** government schooling! It defines government schooling. How can you or anyone else “fix” this? Please please explain.

If it were “fixed” it would be non-socialistic, non-compulsory, not government owned and run, not a price-fixed monopoly cartel, and it would be God-centered. In other words it would be a PRIVATE school!!!!

Please resolve this for us, please.

Also...There is the question of First Amendment Rights (federal and state). The very instant that a child enters a compulsory attendance government school, the government restricts his speech, press, association, and free exercise of his religion. Because it is compulsory the government is also trampling his liberty and his ability to freely live his life and pursue his happiness. Yet, if a school allows free speech, free press, free association, and free expression of religion, and liberty, chaos reigns and the school is neither safe or effective.

How would you “fix” this conundrum. Huh?

There is only one solution: Move toward a completely private system of K-12 education ( and I would extend this to government universities and colleges, as well!)
