House Democrats Pass Bill to Grill School Children about Sexual Preference
Human Events ^ | Monday, September 20, 2010 | Connie Hair

Posted on 09/20/2010 6:45:30 AM PDT by kristinn

At the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee hearing last Thursday, Democrats passed a bill to require federal health officials to question anyone seeking services from Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) community health centers or other programs about their sexual orientation and “gender identity.”

Introduced by Rep. Tammy Baldwin (D-Wis.), H.R. 6109 requires HHS to obtain, retain and analyze sexual identity information from patients who seek healthcare, including children.

“This bill is about collecting data, no more, no less,” Baldwin said.

According to Baldwin, the current “lack of cultural competency” among federal officials means that “we are left with gaping holes in our knowledge on LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered) policy” resulting in “significant health disparities.”

Baldwin is the first openly-declared lesbian elected to Congress.

The new bill’s requirements would apply to all HHS health service programs, requiring the health service employees to ask everyone receiving services their sexual orientation and gender identity -- including those that focus on children at school-based health centers. Children who seek help at government-funded school health clinics would be asked whether or not they are gay, lesbian, bisexual or if they know their gender identity.

Wisconsin needs to vote Tammy Baldwin out of office & send her back to the far side of the woodshed.

She need never hold another public job where the taxpayers support her & her lifestyle.

It’s hard to believe you are serious.

Children, especially adolescents, are very influenced by their friends. That’s why traditionally parents would always want to know who their children were playing or hanging out with, since some kids are bad influences. Children are very easily influenced, that’s why they need protection from bad influences!

At school they are associating with kids who’ve been molested, kids who take drugs, kids whose parents are absent or leftist or both, kids who are allowed to watch porn and other crap.

You think this won’t influence your children?

Ditto with the teachers. Ever read any of the gazillion aritcles on FR about teachers molesting and seducing children, their own students? OKay, so your kid doesn’t get targeted. His or her teachers molests other kids. That’s not going to affect your child?

How about Mr. Smith who comes back next fall as “Ms.Smith” after his sex change operation? Or the female teacher who shows the kids photos of “her wife”? Or tells other personal details children should have to deal with? These things happen a lot. The teachers’ world view will - WILL - be taught along with the subject matter.

Have you taken any looks at textbooks lately? I’ve seen math problems like “Abdul and Manuel share an apartment. They need to buy curtain material for X number of windows” etcetc. Or “June and Linda are studying for their electricians’ exam and plan to attend cop academy later. They need X cans of motor oil to change the oil on their Subaru” etc. The last example is slightly exaggerated, the first one is not.

Or textbooks wherein single motherhood is eulogized and the natural family of husband, wife and children is made to look like the Adams family. I have seen this garbage with my own eyes.

Children are in schools around 8 hours a day, plus on the bus to and fro. That’s more than 40 hours a week. How many hours a week do parents have to undo the indoctrination? And then parents have to find out what crap was spewed at the kid, and try to undo it.

In Massachusetts and other states all public schools have explicit, “gay”-friendly sex ed. And many places parents are NOT told, or cannot exempt their child. And even if your child goes and sits in the library while all the other kids are taught how to fist and put condoms on fruits and vegetables, you think your kid won’t be wondering what the heck they’re doing, or not see any of the literature about “gay is good”, or not be told by the other kids?

I wonder if you’re really being honest.

You clearly feel strongly about this and clearly I disagree. Unethical and immoral are quite stong accusations. Is that the conservative or the Chrisian in you speaking?

No doubt the system needs to be improved. Unions need to be done away with, tenure disappear, vouchers, heck earth day would go away if I had my way and so on.

The Democrat Party is the Faggot Party. The Sodomite Party. The Pederast Party. The Party of Perversion.

Or, simply, The Evil Party.

the power of the school is the parents. If parents took an interest in what their children was being told, taught etc then the schools would not be able to get away with anything. I find it amazing how some will say that you shouldn't let your kids become teachers in the school or college because it is full of liberals.. So translation the left has won when ti comes to the schools so let them ahve it and we'll leave them to it . Well that doesn't fly with me. Myself and others have took an interest in our children, we go to the schools, we talk tot he teachers daily etc. One new principle tried to put he obama speech on in two of my kids school. Trust me she got a lot of calls telling her to knock it off even though she has been there for two weeks. When she got on the school speakers to say turn on the TV for the obama speech, the teachers ignored her and never put it on . She's now been warned if she tries this crap again then she'll not be here for long. Many teachers I know are at the tea party, helping to get signatures fro the question of normal marriage staying as it is in our state. One librarian I know at my oldest childs school said that she will not allow anything in her library which contains homosexuality and if the school district ever tried to make her she would be outside quitting her job and letting parents know about it. the power of the school is parents, the kids are our future and we cannot leave the future to the far left. That is why many of us here will fight the school if they ever tried to bring anything liberal in

You lost me.

I applauded your post 49. Parents have a duty to be fully aware and in control of what their children are exposed to even in the classroom.

That the teacher may be a liberal or other kids do it is a poor excuse. You lose the battle when you allow others to ever get the upper hand in what is expected from your child.

That was just such a knee jerk reaction.

It’s not fear. It’s just plain common sense.

The public education system is in a shambles. It can hardly graduate literate eighteen year olds. Now it’s corrupting the moral fiber of the kids it pretends to own. Parents are just the babysitters for the new crop of liberal fodder.

maybe I’ll say it more straight forward,so it’s maybe my mistake so sorry.

Parents have the power at school when they look after their kids and take an interest.
We tell our kids what is right and wrong, we inform teachers that we expect them to educate with our help on subjects like history based on facts etc.
I had one poster who told me that I should not let my daughter become a teacher because it’s all liberals working there.
I disagree.

If there is a liberal teacher with an agenda and yes there was one on here before she got banned then get the parents together and let it be known that you as parents will not tolerate it.

Parents have the power at these schools.
Listen to your kids, take an interest, find out what they are told every day and talk to the teachers.

I don’t agree with the argument of don’t send them to school because they will be brainwashed .
Kids will only be brainwashed if one lets the teacher become the parent and one as a lazy parent doesn’t talk to ones kids.

I am merely stating the FACTS!

Fact: Government schools are socialist-funded and the taxes raised to fund them are backed by police force ( real bullets in those guns on the hip). When children attend these socialist schools they learn to be comfortable with having the threat of police force to collect the money for a socialist service their parents want for tuition free!

A truly conservative teacher would not and can not cooperate with teaching children to be comfortable with socialism.

Fact: Government schools **are** a price-fixed cartel monopoly. This business practice creates a very hostile business climate for private schooling. Many counties in this nation have NO private schools ( such as mine). When a child attends government schools he become comfortable with government price-fixed cartel monopoly run services.

A truly conservative teacher would not and can not cooperate with teaching children to be comfortable with government run and owned price-fixed cartel monopolies.

Fact: Government schools are **compulsory**. For those counties that have no private schooling, such as mine, unless a parent can homeschool he is compelled ( that means the threat of armed police action) to use the government schools. Therefore...children become comfortable with government police threat and government compulsion.

A truly conservative teacher would not and can not cooperate with teaching children to be comfortable government compulsion to accept a social service.

Fact: Government schools are government owned and run. By attending these schools children become accustomed to government ownership and management of their very lives and deaths. Death panel is aptly named.

A truly conservative teacher would not and can not cooperate with teaching children to be comfortable with government ownership and management of their lives.

Fact: Government schools are utterly godless. While in these schools children are taught to think godlessly from the moment they enter school until the finish their homework in the evening.

Fact: A true conservative would never cooperate with teaching children to think godlessly. If they do cooperate they teach children that Christians are hypocrites. If they sneak in a little Christianity, they teach children that Christians are sneaky.

Parents have a duty to be fully aware and in control of what their children are exposed to even in the classroom.

Parents have no control of what goes on in the classroom unless they homeschool.

If you think that's even remotely possible in the public school, you're deluding yourself.

I've substitute taught in my day and believe me, while parents are welcome as classroom monitors for crowd control, they have NO say in what goes on in the classroom, and they have no control at all of what their children hear from the other kids.

Nobody is going to fix the education system by enrolling their 6 year old in public schools. It's just not going to happen. The few people who care can't possibly make any kind of difference. It's like throwing a bucket of water on a forest fire. It does nothing and you'll only end up getting burned.

I did address the snarky opinion twice posted .

There is nothing to address otherwise. While many choose to avoid ugly to protect their as is their right. Others believe and work on the basis that our influence as a parent must outweigh the ugly, and does. As well as the fact, like it or not, there are good teachers and good influences out there too.

That some prefere to beleive that is a lie says more about them than it does us.

I called those pushing this garbage feeble and those who run away rather than fight it for good of all weak.

The federal government may be evil in most ways - but to say that it is "feeble" is fanciful and unrealistic. And to push little children into the maw of the leftist ideology driven school system is sacrificing them, it is not courageous.

It is not weakness to take them out of school, it's protecting children who do not have the strength to "fight the system" until they are older.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Anyone who cooperates ( actively or inactively) with teaching children to think GODLESSLY, and be comfortable with socialism, government compulsion, and government owned and run cartel price-fixed monopolies are EVIL!

Christians who do the above ( or try to sneak in a little Christianity) are teaching the children that Christians are hypocrites and/or SNEAKY. That is evil!

The above are FACTS and has nothing to do with my Christianity.

I usually agree with you - you know that we see eye to eye on most things.

Your particular school sounds as though it is not so bad, for sure. But most schools are not like that. Most schools are run by leftist administrations and stuffed with leftist teachers.

There’s nothing wrong with a person becoming a teachers if that person can control what they teach and how. It is just harder and harder.

No doubt the system needs to be improved
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

How is it possible to “improve” the following:

Socialist-funded, GODLESS, government owned and run, and government cartel price-fixed monopoly? This is the very **definition** of government schooling!!!!!

If schooling weren't socialist-funded, godless, compulsory, government owned and run, and a price-fixed cartel monopoly IT WOULD BE **PRIVATE**!!!

There is no possible way that a conservative and/or Christian can ethically or morally cooperate with government schooling.

like it or not, there are good teachers

They are few and far between. And the curriculum is horrible. Public schools are a failure. They are nothing more than indoctrination centers for the government view.

You are wrong, but entitled to be. I wonder why you have to take such an extremist postition to justify your methods.

I have repeatedly not bashed homeschooling and tried only to deal with this one issue. A bad call by a brain dead lesbian who wants people running scared or rolling over and giving in.
