67% Say They Are Better Informed Than 10 Years Ago
Sunday, September 19, 2010
While newspapers and broadcast outlets struggle to survive in the Internet age, two-out-of-three Americans (67%) feel they are more informed today than they were 10 years ago. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just eight percent (8%) consider themselves less informed these days, while 22% think their level of knowledge is about the same.
Women are more confident than men that they are better informed now. Adults ages 30 to 49 believe that more strongly than those in any other age group.
Forty-four percent (44%) of all adults say the Internet is the best way to get news and information. Television comes in second, with 36% who still turn to the tube. Print newspapers are a distant third with just 11% who view them as the best source for news and information. Only nine percent (9%) still rely on radio.
Although more people turn to the Internet, they're less sure about the quality of the information they find there. Only 29% say the Internet is the most reliable source of credible news information. The plurality (40%) says broadcast news is the most reliable source. Twenty-one percent (21%) view newspaper that way.

67% Say They're Better Informed Than 10 Years Ago
RUSH: From Rasmussen: "67% Say They Are Better Informed Than 10 Years Ago -- While newspapers and broadcast outlets struggle to survive in the Internet age, two-out-of-three Americans (67%) feel they are more informed today than they were 10 years ago." The way to read this is: 67% of Americans are better informed since newspapers and broadcast outlets began their struggle to survive. That's the way to read this: Sixty-seven percent of Americans say they are more informed today they were ten years ago since newspapers and broadcast outlets struggle to survive. "A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just eight percent (8%) consider themselves less informed these days, while 22% think their level of knowledge is about the same." Fascinating. Once we stopped depending on the old media, people get smarter and they realize it.

***Only nine percent (9%) still rely on radio.***
News???
Did this survey include conservative talk radio???
Something ain’t right.
Why didn’t they ask are they better informed than TWO years ago? They wouldn’t dare do that!
Because of the web.
Which is why the left will do all it can to stop this trend.
How can that be when just two years ago, 53% voted for the One?
How many were FReepers?
That would ‘splain it right there!
Let’s not discount addition by subtraction.
Fewer people rely on or even see Newsweek, Time, and the network news broadcasts.
But in the end, all the information in the world cannot overcome stupidity.
The internet represents a more and large view than having a few new media gate keepers deciding what you should view.
Winny the Poo wasn't present at Yorktown...Who'da thunk?
Better informed about what?
Really. They certainly weren't better informed before November 2008.
