O'Donnell Witch Hunt
IBD Editorials ^ | September 20, 2010 | Investors Business Daily staff

Politics: The GOP's chosen nominee for senator from Delaware is being asked to defend comments about the occult. Hey, it's not as if she "dabbled" in the KKK or Marxism or seanced with a very dead Eleanor Roosevelt.

Be careful whom you date in high school or what you dabble in to humor a boyfriend. Those skeletons in your closet may come back to haunt you, particularly if you become a conservative Tea Party candidate fighting to stop creeping socialism in America.

Last Friday, comedian Bill Maher, whose cable show "Real Time" is considered by liberals as a real news source (unlike, say, Fox News), dug up and showed an 11-year-old interview from 1999 in which O'Donnell, then 30 years old, said she "dabbled in witchcraft" because she "hung around people who were doing these things" in high school.

O'Donnell graduated from Moorestown (N.J.) High School in 1987, a dozen years before the Maher appearance. If political candidates are to be judged by what they did or hung with in high school, we are taking the vetting process to extremes.

Two days later, pundit Karl Rove, whose primary night critique of O'Donnell caused a stir, was on "Fox News Sunday" saying: "In Delaware, where there are a lot of churchgoing people, they're going to want to know what this is all about."

Perhaps, but they also want to know about her position on the repeal of ObamaCare and extending the Bush tax cuts.

Was not Barry Sortoro a coke druggie and a pusher in Highe School?!

All of Barry’s wild drug practices are A-O-K, but her comment about witchcraft is a deal breaking disqualifier?!

People MUST know see the Red Media is only pressing this because they want to protect their criminals...right?!

That is not her problem. Her problem is she used to go on the Bill Marr show.

He was as much of a jerk then as now. A big government socialist claiming he is libertarian, Now that O is president he cant hide his socialist leanings. He got fired from his ABC late night job.

"Bill Mahr is such a tool. Did he really think anyone would care what someone did in HIGH SCHOOL?—I mean besides the chattering class. Talk about desperate."

This is as much of an issue because of Karl Rove as much as Bill Mahr. Rove deserves no slack here.

Good grief.

I guess I am out of the running for any sort of public office seeing that I used to blow things up with the chemicals from my chemistry kit when I was 12.

I also played a lot of Yahtzee in college, a sure sign that I need to answer questions about my gambling back then. (Never mind that we played for pizza)

Sheesh, lots of kids *dabble* in stuff like that.

It’s just a phase.

If they’re looking for the perfect candidate, they wouldn’t be happy unless it was Jesus Himself.

But then again, look at what the establishment did to Him.

We knew the LSM would look for anything they could dig up. All we need to concern ourselves with is why Rove tossed dirt into the arena.

Merci sakes, am glad it never came up that I went to a Barry Goldwater rally in 1964.

But the rat, leftist media is all powerful.

They’re grabbing at straws, while the Tsunami approaches!

Hey RATS, we’re coming for YOU!

Right . Rove deserves no slack . Fat Boy has led the charge against the woman who gave his client a beat down . It will take more than the fair and balanced fraud to save this pigs credibility .

I am glad be did. It’s all out there in the open with plenty of time to wash it away as opposed to surprises right before election day. Nor would she have such a war chest if not for karl. Keep it up, karl. At this rate she’ll have as much as McQueeg had for his primary fight.

Karl Rove: ".. they're going to want to know what this is all about."

This is another thing that has to stop. I am not the least bit interested in these drive by shootings of candidates who won't go along to get along. Every time we see one of these deep background hits on someone we should presume that it is untrue or nothing and go after the motivations of the perp.

We are interested in the performance of our public servants in their official capacity, not their personal lives. Rove just keeps proving that he is just another bottom sucking scum politician with every word he utters. The GOP should fire him and tell him to get out of dodge. Until they do I have less respect for the party than I do for Rove, which is pretty hard right now.

I used M80's and cherry bombs. Easier to use and much more fun when you don't have to build them yourself.

Good point . Also , it would help if Fox would admit that rove was on the Castle team. He is trying to save face by attacking the woman , he lacks the balls to take on Joe Miller . Pussy .

There of many of us who feel the same. If Rove is going to smear the Republican that those in Delaware chose, after she won the primary, he shows himself to be the worthless political whore he is.

The building them yourself was the fun part. You add a pinch of this and a touch of that and a bit of what you found under the sink and next thing you know you have a major fireball that takes out half the lemon tree.

Er... I mean rogue lighting strike! Yeah... that was what it was.

(I am not sure the statute of limitations has run out yet.)

No one cares about Coons. Right now Christine is trying to win Independents and Democrats in Delaware. Christine vs Karl is pretty good with Dems and Indys.

Interesting? This lady dabbled as a high school teen and is being crucified by the media while Byrd dabbled as and adult, Clinton dabbled as an adult, Jackson dabbled as an adult, Obama dabbled as an adult, and many more exalted liberal clowns dabbled as an adult in a much more important way. But the media does not care about the liberal a__holes, they concentrate on the teen life of a current challenger.

I would suggest that Ms O'Donnell stage a rally similar to what Beck did on 8/28. I would bet that she would attract 2 million plus Americans. And it might help some folks from Delaware to make a voting decision.
