UK Proposes All Paychecks Go to the State First....
CNBC ^ | Sep 20th, 2010

The UK's tax collection agency is putting forth a proposal that all employers send employee paychecks to the government, after which the government would deduct what it deems as the appropriate tax and pay the employees by bank transfer.

The proposal by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) stresses the need for employers to provide real-time information to the government so that it can monitor all payments and make a better assessment of whether the correct tax is being paid.

Currently employers withhold tax and pay the government, providing information at the end of the year, a system know as Pay as You Earn (PAYE). There is no option for those employees to refuse withholding and individually file a tax return at the end of the year.

If the real-time information plan works, it further proposes that employers hand over employee salaries to the government first.

It’s not that much different than having our employers act for the IRS as we do now.

Maybe the UK government wants the float.

Sounds like they are regressing to the Dark Ages of Lords and serfs ... And the employees are the serfs ... the employers the vassals ...

And these were the people of the Magna Carta?

If we don’t defeat the Democrats in November, this is sure to be an step Nancy, Harry, Obama and company will be considering (and probably sneaking it into an education or military funding bill).

England, sadly, is barely free anymore. Universal camera surveillance, thought crime, licenses required for a TV, no open broadcast of internet signals, severly restricted free speech, prior censorship on certain topics, gun control, boy scouts can’t have a standard boy scout knife/tool, treasure or minerals found found on private property belongs to the state, illegal immigrants can simply move into your garage while you are gone for the weekend, and police won’t evict them,, and now Sharia law is moving in.

It’s most sad what has happened there. We must never allow it here.

At first, I thought this was satire.

I’m sure Obama read this article and said to himself, “Hey, this is a really good idea”.

Folks, this is just a proposal. It’s not going anywhere.

But whoever even brought this idea up and made it public ought to be DEMOTED.

It's just the next logical step for that mindset.

Nothing insane about it.

This law would soon be followed by a law stating employers are no longer allowed to share how much money they sent the government per employee.

Why have a paycheck at all? Just get paid by the government and all employers give all of their earnings to the government...

It’s been a few years, but someone in the UK was working on silent hovercraft...small ones...for surveillance. Very Orwellian.

The road to serfdom now leads to the UK. If this policy is actually enacted, I could not understand any why any freedom loving, entrepreneurial person would remain in the UK. Are we going to see Brits emigrate to Cuba and Russia now?
Oh heck, why don’t they go all out and regress back to the feudal system of the 12th century.

Although you are correct, that it will go nowhere, all of these ideas start off as innocent proposals. They are quickly shot down, and then the “compromise” is that they get a third or half of the original proposal.

There will be no demotion,,because they did exactly what their masters intended. They asked for the everything knowing they will be given half. They smirk at the plan. They know they will ask for more,, and then more, and then even more. That is how England has got to where they are today.

Well this is coming here to a theatre new you soon enough. The american way is to get around the govt and here is what could play out: Instead of delivering set pay to employees - goods in kind can be provided - housing can be owned by the company and let to employees for nominal amounts unless the IRS wants to impute rental fair market value for every piece of property which of course they feel they could do yesterday.

Goods-in-kind renumeration puts the employee in the place of an indentured servant. The employer becomes a subsidiary of the federal govt.

The response in britain should be hell no instead of the meek - it's not a good idea...
