Washington, D.C. Nevada Senator Harry Reid released the following statement after Republicans blocked a cloture motion that would have opened debate on the Defense Authorization bill funding critical assistance for our troops:
Republicans are again playing politics with our national security. Today they blocked the Senate from debating a bill that would give our troops the resources they need to keep America safe stopping not only funding for combat vehicles and bulletproof vests or measures to improve our militarys readiness, but even a well-earned pay raise to help our troops and their families make ends meet.
I am disappointed that my Republican colleagues put partisan politics ahead of the best interests of the men and women who courageously defend our nation. Democrats will continue to fight for our troops and will work to ensure that our troops have the resources they need to do their jobs.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.
Nevadans should be ashamed of inflicting this despicable man on the rest of the nation.
Didn’t see this one coming from asshat Harry. /sarc
Grab a Coke and smile and stfu, idiotReid.
Yes, speak my pet, speak. The more you talk, the more we gain.
He is an idiot. But he is “Hot”
Hairy Reid is the one that announced our troops had lost the War.
He is so predictable. We knew exactly what he would say about this bill.
Harry, do you really think no one is going to notice that the reason that the Republicans blocked the defense authorization bill is because you added unrelated legislation to it?
Oh, really? So it was the Republicans that tacked unrelated riders on to the bill that was designed to help the military?
I don't think so.
They can’t wait for faggotry in the ranks.
Dictionaries are going to be needing a lot of editting soon. Democrats are giving whole new meanings to words like “chutzpah”, “nerve”, “hypocrisy” and “gall.”
E V I L..................
Is this the very same cloture motion that Reid voted against? What a total Biden (i.e. idiot)!
LOL! Now Reid’s strategy makes sense. He didn’t expect the bill to pass after he put the poison pills in it. He’s going to try and use it as a campaign issue. Good luck with that.
Yeah, stick his pile of crap rider into the bill and then feign outrage when it won’t pass.
Democrats have a majority in the Senate and the House...just more lies from liberals. There should be a daily column in a newspaper called that...liberals are sure to provide several lies per day, it’d be an easy column to write.
No mention of DADT or The Dream Act. Just faux "indignation" at Republicans for "not supporting the troops"
